Just curious as to the opinions around here regarding Kyle Bollar. Not sure that I'm overly impressed, but he is young (versus the long toothed Johnson), he has a strong arm, is mobile, and he is available.

It is a sad state of affairs when virtually anyone pulled off the street would be a better alternative then our current backups.

Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

If he's available for the right price, It'd be great to have him wear a Cowboys uniform.

I agree about Beck. I also feel we made a huge mistake by not holding on to Matt Moore last season.

We tried to get him back on the practice squad but the Panthers nabbed him.

Boller reminds me of Trent Edwards. Gifted 5 star QB who had a subpar career in college. For Trent is was his injuries. For Boller he had only one one year with Tedford. Trent has yet to write his page in the NFL, but so far Kyle hasn't repped my alma mater too well.

I've seen some very bad performances with Kyle, but I've also seen some promise with this guy. Let's face it when was the last time Baltimore has had an elite skill player on offense. I'd be curious to see how the guy reacted if he had the toys to function with.

I actually think we have a solid backup already and he scored some 60+ million contract recently.

Boller is garbage. Ravens gave him every chance possible to make a name for himself & he FAILED every time. We don't need MORE Garbage here, we need LESS garbage.

1st round busts often develop into solid backups. Boller, Alex Smith ... these are guys to look at. In many cases, they performed poorly because they were asked to jump in too early. First round busts rarely lack the physical skills, they almost alway have problems with the speed of the game and/or grasping the offense. You give a guy like that a few years behind someone to develop and he can be a decent contributor. Of course, this all requires that he get over himself and realize that if he wants to be in the league, he has to embrace the backup role.

Alex Smith is a bust because the dude just cant play...I dont want anything to do with him...he was a 3rd or 4th rd talent at best

Jerry loves former 1st rounders. He has a theory that if some how somebody once saw that a player possesed enough ability to be selected in the 1st in this league then maybe something is there. and if its cheap the more the merrier. It make up for lack of talent evaluation skills i guess.

Has Beck or Boller played baseball at any time during their life?

Bring back Henson or Hutch. Q-Car isn't here, so they should be able to compete

LOL? Neither Boller or Alex Smith have shown anything to demonstrate they'd be 'solid backups'. First round busts usually end up out of the league or leading journeyman careers and retiring. I don't need to name names, it's well known.

Ideally you want unproven first rounders with the potential to be starters, or later round guys that you can develop. Nobody is looking for a first round bust.
