I'm no expert when it comes to LB play, but all I saw out there was a guy barely making tackles, in the wrong position on a couple long runs. The only play he made was when no Giant bothered to block him.#congrats.

btw: Bruce Carter had 5 int's last season, he starting in Tampa?

Jesus Christ dude it was Lee's first game in nearly two years. Yet and still he led the Cowboys in tackles. He was apart of what was a very stout run defense until the final drive where they bent a little bit. There was clearly still some rust, but he made some big plays throughout the ball game. Got pressure on Eli on the Giants final pass play and forced him to throw the ball in the back of the end zone.

Lee is a great football player when healthy. He's instinctive, very athletic, can cover just about any tight end or back, ball skills, disciplined, great open field tackler, good awareness, and an outstanding leader as well. Can play downhill and sideline to sideline, can rush the passer, can drop back in the zone and lock down his area, and one of the best at diagnosing plays.

Bruce Carter did not start last week. They said in the preseason that he lost his job to a rookie.

Carter also did not start in weeks 12 through 16 last season but the rookie Hitchens did start those games.

Wilber is one of those guys like Hayden who the coaches like for his versatility a lot more than the fans do. They'll probably let him test FA, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were to bring him back on small contracts for a few more years after that, either.

Wilber actually has a fighting chance out there every once in awhile. Hayden has no chance and just gets manhandled.

Somebody called in and actually had the nerve to suggest that Coleman get some chances on talkin' cowboys today. I thought Mickey was gonna blow a gasket.

'Not an expert' is a dramatic understatement.

Mcclains wingspan is what made our defense so much better than it should have been last year. If he is not in on nickel when healthy it makes no sense. McClain and lee will go perfect together.

McClain's length single-handedly (or double actually) made our defense better last year? Hyperbole of the season so far.

McClain was an outstanding linebacker when he was asked to and allowed to play downhill. When asked to play zone, however, he frequently looked lost and out of position. I agree, if we are going to attack and play man, McClain is the guy, but if they want to go zone, Hitch has the edge their. Considering we generally looked our best last season when in press cover-3 looks, Hitch would make more sense as the regular starter next to Lee (who no one on this roster can sniff for zone instincts).

Furthermore, I will take the guy who's been here, working his tail off, over the guy who will be getting back into game shape in week 5. McClain is good, but he isn't some irreplaceable force.

Lee was average. Not surprising, since he's an average player.

I thought for a guy who had been held out of football for a long time he looked pretty good. Stoned a FB. Made a nice lunging tackle in the middle of the field. He also blitzed the A gap a fair amount. It was his rush that first flushed Eli on the key incompletion.

Knocking the rust off implies that there will be some short term improvement. He'll be rounding into form when Hardy and McClain return.

Your so far off it isn't funny. It is a FACT that this defense was so good because of McClain. If we had McClain the entire GB game, we win. He is one of the better coverage MLBers in the league also. His size alone makes it hard for QBs to throw over the middle. He sealed the Seattle win playing zone too.

Lee just needed a game to shake off the rust. He's already back in midseason, Pro Bowl form.

Wilber has always been flexible and reliable whenever he's been called upon.

Not everyone can be elite nor all-pro material. Many are simply quite capable.
