L. Robinson might get released

I dont know that I agree with this. I blame players and lack of execution.

BEAST = catches TD's and catches passes.

What did Buddy Ryan say years ago about bird face, all he does is score TD's.

He has only done that one year. The rest of the time he hasn't gone out and caught passes and TDs with any consistency. Maybe he can do it again with Romo at QB, but there is no guarantee that he can.

Romo and Rob were the right union. There is no guarantee that it continued this year but it was there and they can probably find it again.

Robi needs Romo - they work

Very true,

It was good here in Dallas. It's 11 tds that the Cowboys miss and really need this year.

Would it of happened again this year? Probably not. But, gives the defense just one more player to worry about that proved his worth last season. That plays on opposing DC's minds.

I just think the guy had a good situation here. Would of been nice to see what would of happened this season with those three.

Looks like the Cowboys made the right decision to not pay him doesn't it? Robinson is living proof though if you run crisp routes that Romo will get you the ball. While Robinson isn't near the physically gifted player that Dez is, he is a hell of a lot more dependable when it comes to route running.

How much did route running really contribute to Robinson's success while in Dallas? Many of Robinson's big plays in Dallas came when the play had already broke down and Romo was improvising.

Good point. I think it was both the crisp routes and the improvisation.... bottom line, Romo just trusts him and they have good chemistry. Sad to see him go.

I think it was Wood who made a couple of great posts in the offseason talking about how we could have signed Robinson to a 2 year deal, instead of just 1, with little to no risk for the Cowboys.

It would have been the type of under the radar move that really helps teams when they get lucky with a player.

Robinson was great at finding the soft spots when Tony went into scramble mode.

Darn shame for us, not Laurent, that it didn't happen.

Some thing we are missing big time this season.

Heard he returned to be number 3 receiver for the jags and might get released in the winter according to rotoworld.com, what would you all think of we brought him back in in the offseason

The team has too many #3 receivers as it is. They need a #1 and a #2. Robinson is a #3 who had a good year playing #3.

Who cares about who's number one, two or three? I want Romo to complete passes, he did that with Robinson.

.

They weren't great posts. It was a faulty premise. Dallas cut Robinson last season and then later brought him back. You don't sign guys like that to 2 year deals when you are re-signing him during the season. No team does.

Jacksonville would take a 9.1 million cap hit if they release him. They can make it a june 1st a split it in half over two years but thats still alot to pay to let someone just walk.

That's just not how good teams think. They don't say "but we paid him this much, we have to keep him." They say "is he worth the money we've laid out? No? Better cut bait now and move on."

Laurent Robinson isn't going anywhere next season, Jags have a lot of cap room and he is the number 1 WR until Blackmon takes it. Jags need all the talent they can get to help their young QB.

No thanks. Whatever he brought to the table last year didn't help us to make the play offs. It's time we take out the trash, no bring it in.

He was one of the bright spots of last season. He wouldn't have been part of the "Trash" you speak of, that we could do without.

He is getting paid 2.6 million next year. He will definitely not be cut.

Sure -- but if you wanna sign guys all the time to 2 year deals then they avoid you b/c you limit their opportunities if they excel. You sign a guy to a minimum deal and you need to accept that he is free at the end of that deal if you get lucky. What Wood suggests plays against us getting lucky with guys in the future. Yes, Mr. Robinson, please sign here and also give up a year of free agency.

do any of you recognize just how motivating being a UFA is to these guys?

Not sure if you are serious.

That is not a crushing blow for either team.
