I don't see that happening. But I take reports like this with a grain of salt this close to the draft.

Funny I got him slidding......if Tampa Bay doesn't take him. He's just not a scheme fit for a lot of teams....And I don't see anyone dropping a 1st round pick on a guy that might end up being a part time player for you becuase your base D is a 3-4.

This guy is notoriously full of it. He got into pissing matches up here when he made claims back years ago that he was basically guaranteeing that Chip Kelly would not sign on with Philly because he didn't like Howie Roseman.

A week later, Philly hired Kelly.

At least this gives us something new to discuss.

Is Rankins in for a Ware-type rise?

I'm all in for Ramsey today and it looks like it will stay that way until the Darft goes down. He's IMPACT, changes this team and if anything like College - maybe the entire NFL approach to game planing Dallas.

I wonder if Rankins is the guy Fisher hinted they loved on on the down low a couple weeks ago.

My dream scenario would be a slight trade back to get Rankins, then a slight trade up to get Joseph. Two of the best defensive players in the 1st round. What we'll probably do is get Ramsey and then trade our 2nd and 3rd to move up to get Hackenburg.

You'll never convince me you typed that with a straight face.

Jalen covers an area of the field like the best DBs in the game, which changes the way the NFL approaches game planning each week, there aren't many but Patrick Peterson and Earl Thomas have this effect. Ed Reed changed game plans in his prime by shutting down huge areas of the field.

'Deonesque' type players that have extreme range to their game. Not shutting down half the field, but narrowing it down to 1/4 is extreme impact.

Ramsey is up with the best range DBs in the NFL, from Day 1.

And here is the fall back plan. It never was Elliott or Bosa.

If SD takes Ramsey, Rankins will be the pick. I just hope we are able to trade back first.

I see you took that Sports Science piece and ran with it.

Deion Sanders wasn't a range guy, he had ungodly speed and anticipation and was as natural a cover man as you will ever see. Jalen Ramsey doesn't show that anticipation and is not a natural cover guy. Saying he is going to narrow the field to 1/4 is absolutely laughable. Beyond hyperbole. His best film is when he is near the LOS playing slot or safety. Hands down his worst tape is when he is outside asked to cover a guy one-on-one. He struggles tracking guys across the field, has slow hip turn and lacks anticipation--hence he has all world athleticism and 3 picks in his career.

Ramsey will be a good player, but the hype for him is not exponentially worse than it was for Wentz. Now he is Ed Reed and Deion Sanders...

No his hype is almost nonexistent comparatively speaking, actually he has extremely quick, fast hips. Rated as the highest floor and ceiling skill position impact players of anyone in the top 10, well before his Collegiate career had ended.

When talking range it's the extreme amount of space he covers, for example at the 1:08 and the 1:28 mark in this video, the anticipation and ability to track the ball in the air is uncanny from two different sides of the field on pro patterns commonly ran in the NFL.
