I was very pleased by the lack of penalties committed by the O-line. They played very disciplined all game except for the one Flozell outburst.

the no-call that bugged me the most was in the first half, we had 2 separate DL get held, one was pulled to the ground, on a play that resulted in a first down for the Bucs. I can see missing 1 holding, but 2 on the same play?

The illegal touching penalty on Crayton... I'll take those penalties all day long too. They're rare, but it could have saved a turnover. I thought it was a great play that saved points, so I don't really consider it a "penalty."

I agree, and alot of people complained about it. But it was a heady play by Crayton, who had a great game overall today. He's always been a solid role player, but he looks like he has really elevated his game this offseason.

I was thinking he probably could have gotten to it legally but, yeah, that was a pretty harmless 10 yards considering what could have happened.
I think he probably could have swatted it with his hands too... But there's no way he knows that someone behind him isn't about to jump on the ball. It's a split-second decision. I'm not saying it was the best play ever, just that I'm not going to begrudge him for drawing that penalty at all.

Yep, agreed. Too bad the announcers didn't pick up on it.

i guess it wasn't bad overall, but there were a couple of really STUPID penalties that drive me crazy. Flozell comes immediately to mind.

I thought that, too, but without a rearview camera he didn't know how close any Bucs were. Good move regardless, I think.

no, i didn't see it either. but i can only presume the ref didn't throw a flag b/c he was just standing there watching the play happen. and his long history of stupid penalties does not give him the benefit of the doubt.

That Sensabaugh call was one of the worse I've seen.... The officials has a terrible opening day.

Agree it was a bad call. But did anyone else bust out laughing when McBriar drew his running into the kicker penalty?? That was a flop of Vlade Divac proportions. And it got us points lol.

Guess I won't complain too much about Sensy's call. :)

the guy rolled into his plant leg. McBriar never moved from where he kicked it and he was only standing on his plant leg. That is why he fell down. It was a legit call by the refs and IMO, McBriar didn't even sell it.

if you want to see someone selling a running or roughing the punter call.....go look at the UT/OU game last year. The OU punter totally won an Oscar for his performance in that game.

lack of penalties but 2 costly penalties.

the one on Sensabaugh that nullified the Jenkins INT.... Bucs ended up driving for a TD.

later was a PI on Jenkins on an incomplete pass on 3rd and 2. Gave them 1st down, Bucs go down and score a TD.

2 of those penalties kept drives going that resulted in TDs/points.

Sensabaughs penalty was tick tack. They let teams like Pittsburgh, NE, and Baltimore maul receivers and tight ends. Hell, they were letting Antonio Bryant maul Newman on several plays.....and no call. To call in incidental swipe of the jersey is pathetic. It's not like he impeded, pushed, pulled, or tripped the WR. His hand gently brushed across the jersey. It was a no call IMO. This penalty bugs me the way those cheap touch fouls bug me in the NBA.
