Running back Lamar Miller is one of the Dolphins free-agents they need to address

Miller should get plenty of interest on the open market, James Walker of ESPN.com reports. He’s 24 and just entering his prime. Miller also has plenty of starting experience and rushed for 1,971 yards and 19 total touchdowns the past two seasons.

Miller made it clear after the season that he is looking for the best fit in free agency. That was a subtle hint that he’s aware Miami’s coaching staff didn’t always use Miller to his full potential. Miller is a Miami native who played every level of football inSouth Florida. Staying home could play a factor. But the Dolphins have a lot to figure out offensively, and Miller probably could have more long-term success playing elsewhere.

LM would be a legitimate signing. Did he run in a ZBS in MIA?

Yes, I believe so. Just with inferior offensive linemen.

However, with the old coaching staff thrown out, he may give it a second chance, depending on how good of a pitch Gase can make.

As long as he didn't try to break the bank with Dallas, he'd very likely be a productive acquisition.

Not altogether too certain Dallas might want to accommodate his asking price, however.

OTOH, our OL should offer a highly attractive landing spot for Miller to gravitate to.

Paired up with McFadden, our RB corps could be something else.

Unfortunately, we're unlikely to sign him, too. Dallas appears to be in no hurry to add a legitimate back after what McFadden did last year.

Yep! we already have our lead dog back according to the Dallas Braintrust (Jerry). Any "old" back can run for miles behind this
"all world" offensive line. No need to go big and spend big for any RB's in Dallas.

Based on the 0 days of free agency this year?

Based on comments from the team about the running game last year.

I see where you're coming from; by no hurry, I meant that the front office doesn't seem to believe they need to worry about the position this year. Now, hopefully that's only Jerry talk and the guys he employs are smart enough to see that McFadden's wheels could fall off any second.

Still, it appears to me that they are pleased enough with McFadden as the lead back that they won't consider adding anything more than maybe a mid-round pick to the mix. I hope that's not the case.

That's how I knew they wouldn't draft an rb last year. That's also why I think they won't use a top pick on a qb this year.

I think the signals are a bit more mixed on the QB spot, but I do think some of the things Jerry has said seem to indicate that Dallas won't use a top pick on one.

Not that I personally agree, but I really think Dallas likes what they have in DMC, Turbin and Dunbar. Certainly enough so that they will not go big on signing a guy in free agency.
