Well, Landry did endure Hollywood Henderson and Duane Thomas...

And Jimmy didn't have choir boys.

But that said, what Owens did in the endzone epitomized selfishness.

I doubt that Landry would even have him on the team with all that he has pulled throughout his career....However, it did have some pretty flambouyant players on his teams as well....most notably Hollywood Henderson.

Landry fired Henderson for waving a bandanna during a Commanders loss. Jimmy's thugs didn't bring selfishness to the field. Anyway Jimmy went off on TO yesterday

Landry and Jimmy wouldnt have allowed him on the team in the first place...

Jimmy would have taken him in a second, look at the thugs and crap he had at Miami.

Landry, who knows but he is from a bygone era where players didn't run the show. They do now.

Jimmy never took in a player in the NFL with TO's reputation. Michael Irvin was a loud mouthed, flambouyant, spotlight crazing star with an ego the size of downtown Manhatten, but he ALWAYS put that behind him on gameday and brought it. He never carried his antics into the locker room or onto the field. He was a TEAM player and NEVER whined about his role.

Oh Please!! If you think TO is any worse than some of the other players that played in the "glory days".. you are either blind or just not old enough to remember! Hollywood Henderson, Mike Irvin, Butch Johnson, Dion Sanders.. the cowboys have always had players that were less than perfect citizens. And it was happening before Jerry even thought about buying this team. Give it a rest...

OK, folks, we get it... you didn't want TO on the team. Your outrage has been noted previously.

We will continue to assume you're offended by TO's very existence until further notice.

i agree with everything you said about Irvin, except he did take it on the feild.. he celebrated TD's and first downs.. use the ball as prop.. he would have been flagged for half the stuff he did,, it just wasn't a rule back then. Either some of you have short memories or selective memories.

Well I know Johnson was gone by the time it happened, but Irvin's selfishness cost us five games and a possible fourth SB in the 1990s.

Irvin didn't deliberately get 15 yard penalties like TO does.

And Irvin never got TD's like TO does... I mean just for the record. ;)

Oh so being suspended for having a cocaine party with hookers isn't selfish? Didn't his missing those five games where we went 2-3 instead of probably 4-1 have something to do with the fact we were knocked out by Carolina?

wasn't there a huge drug scandal at Miami while Jimmy was coaching? Irvin was at the program when Jimmy was coaching, and yet still drafted him in the pros, and seeing Irvin have a coke problem in the pros, it must have been a known fact for Jimmy since their days at Miami

if Jimmy saw that TO was what he needed to help improve his team and win games, he sure as hell would bring him on

of course he'd give him a lashing after the stunt he pulled yesterday

those kinds of things don't count as being selfish because it didn't result in a 15 yard penalty that had no effect on the game itself. Just so you know!

I don't think the climate back then was all these planned end zone deals. If anyone thinks that there weren't players that would have done that back then I can't agree. Should Carolina cut Steve Smith, Cinci cut Chad Johnson? I don't like it either, but the bottom line is if he had made that catch this would not be a topic and everyone knows it.
