Here is my issue on Hardy. I think he is a bad dude...a strange dude too. No that doesn't mean he doesn't get a second chance but I think he is trouble. But from a football perspective and his second chance I find him to either be very disruptive or I just don't notice him. Add all of the stuff together and I wouldn't break the bank for him. Just not sure what you do honestly. He is best we have but Defense still gets torched.

Looked like Hardy had several near misses too. Johnson running his mouth like he manhandled Hardy, that wasnt what I saw. Now I did see Hardy sucking wind in the second quarter like others were. That shouldnt happen.

I can say that about 10 other guys who couldn't cover tackle sack the QB or force a TO. It's hard to do it all on your own that's for sure.

That's all true, but if I'm going to pay a guy franchise pass rusher money, like Hardy will almost assuredly want after this season, he needs to be a self-contained disruptive force when the game is on the line. I need to watch the all-22, but my first impression is that Brandon Graham had more effect on Matt Cassell than Hardy did on Bradford.

I'll cheer for his football success as long as he wears the star, but I never wanted him on the team and wouldn't cry if they cut him tomorrow. And that's not because I think he's a creep. I just don't think he's worth the uproar he causes by being a Dallas Cowboy.

at least you are honest

It was not one of Tyron's best games that is for sure, and we didn't even really chip the guy when we saw Tyron struggling, and that to me is such an issue with this staff! We make zero adjustments to counter what other teams are doing. They find our weakness and they keep going after it over and over and over again. Just like crossing routes! Why are they always so open? Yet we can't buy a crossing route? So frustrating. You can't tell me we don't have the players to run or to defend those types of plays.

So far, I see a good pass rusher who is awful against the run.

based on the immense media scrutiny and criticism, is it any wonder he wasn't mentally distracted?

This was my problem with him from the beginning. Lots of people think that outside noise doesn't affect a team, and maybe it doesn't all the time, but Dallas had enough coming into the season that I didn't think they needed more.

If you don't feel he needs to be a part of this team, fine. But don't judge him based on this one game, when a perfectly logical reason exists why he wasn't in top form.

As I've said, I'd rather he signed elsewhere from the get-go. The idea that he "wasn't in top form" because of media furor over pictures of his domestic handiwork seems highly ironic to me.

Lane Johnson after the game about Greg Hardy:

"I've faced better. If things aren't going his way, he just kind of shuts down."

I had read this about Hardy. Inconsistent effort.

This bares watching. Don't empty the vault on a "sometimes" guy.

Because of what an underachieving top pick said after they win in OT against a third string QB? Yeah, that's some valuable insight.

Fair enough. But the Cowboys' decision was based on talent alone. It's the reason Tim Tebow and Michael Sam are no longer on an NFL team. If they were talented and could play consistently on an NFL level, teams would have taken a chance on them. But they're too much of a distraction, and when your talent isn't worth the distraction, teams pass or bail on you.

Make no mistake, if we didn't need help with our pass rush, Greg Hardy wouldn't be wearing the star.

You've heard the proverb about the straw that broke the camel's back? ;)

Jerry won't be opening the Cowboy Wallet wide open for any of those guys after the season, either, which is my argument. I don't think he's worth $12-$15M a year. Crawford deserves some scrutiny too.

Yep, yep and yep. I'm just not sure the team wouldn't be just as far ahead all the way around giving his minutes to Gregory and Irving.

Heh. The Camel's back and a whole bunch of other stuff.

I think Lane is just taking shots because they won and Hardy's easy to rag on right now. I didn't see lack of effort. He could've been potentially bothered by what happened this past friday. He didn't look right but I wouldn't say effort.

SO true, on both sides of the ball. I'm not a Garrett hater, but I hate his offense and I hate his conservative nature.
