It's time Jerry speaks up. Enough is enough now. I have never seen a QB get hit after a play as much as Romo. The worst part is, 90 percent of the time it's a hit to his back. It gets very irritating watching this happen and then see someone breathe on Aaron Rodgers and a flag comes out. The FO or even Garrett should say something to get this problem rectified. End rant/

Wasn't Bridgewater whacked in the head as well with no call?

Refs are inconsistent when it comes to QBs. Some QBs get weak calls and others get whacked with no flag.

Between late (uncalled) hits and the legal hits that Romo took yesterday, they are going to have to figure <something> out.

Romo when running around looks like a relatively young NFL QB -- still has agility and all that.

When Romo gets hit, has to pick himself off the ground, etc he looks like a very old NFL QB.

The OL has to protect him better OR the odds are he won't make it to where the Cowboys want to go.

To be fair I'm surprised Heath didn't get flagged on that shot to Tannehill, just because it looked bad. I also saw a hand to the helmet on one of the pressures on him that could have been called.

But yeah, I agree that different qbs get different calls. Ed Hochuli confirmed it if you believe what cam Newton said he said

Agreed.

However, teams are gunning for him, they know he's getting old and can be injured, and yes, when pressured a lot he still makes the mistakes many qb's make.

Last year he had time to eat a ham sandwich in the pocket, and then step into his throws. From here on out teams will give up a big play to plant Tony, it began last year in the playoffs and is still continuing, and sadly seems to be accelerating. I don't see him making it through the rest of the season without being sidelined for another period.

Although I don't believe Heath committed a penalty since it wasn't helmet to helmet, lowering his helmet like that could have resulted in one and also could have led to a neck injury for him. Hopefully, the coaches point that out to him on tape.

Even Sanchez got a ridiculous call yesterday. Defender hit him square in his chest a millisecond after the ball was released yet he got a late hit penalty. I would like Jerry to get more vocal about this issue. His nice guy act to everything is kinda annoying me. Jerry, you're going to get another Super Bowl, stop bending over backwards for it.

Also, I'd like to see a little more fire from Tyron Smith. He seems completely emotionless every time Romo is laying on the ground after a hit.

Saw that one. It should be an immediate call as it looked like he came in purposefully aiming at his back...

Agree. His spin moves are vintage BB pro quality. That one spin move handoff was a " work of art"

Granted. I watch every play the Cowboys snap. But I do watch other games too.....but its mostly Dallas.

Having said that . I agree with OP. Its unacceptable. I have witnessed 3-4 late hits on Romo that just go unflagged!!!! Its....you know what!!

Also, that rookie ...hickberry or dingleberry or whatever his name is in Philly......he needs a big dose of payback, when the time comes.

That hit that cause Romo the collarbone, was clearly driving the QB into the turf!! Watch it again....he clearly drives the QB into the turf at the last second...

Aikman wasn't protected by the refs either. It's my belief Aikman would have played several more years had the refs gave him the protection other qbs got.

They seem to go low on him a lot. Knees specifically.

Yeah I pointed that out to my son yesterday. We had a 9 year old kid in my sons pop Warner league break his neck this season on a play just like that. We teach them the heads up program, but you still see kids lowering their heads into tackles all the time.

The one from the first Giants game was unbelievable.

Which one from this game are you all referring to so I can get angry.

Well, obviously I'm an Internet idiot because I can't seem to post the pic. But here's the link. http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-o...e-hit-sunday-shows-up-on-week-2-injury-report

Its a hard technique to master and perform everytime. Its a natural instinct to lower the head. Takes lots and lots of repetition and reminding. Maybe even some yelling......!!

And even then, it still happens from time to time.....but we want to limit those times.....its danagerous.
