Lavar Arrington wearing the star?

I have a friend (Commander fan) who says Arrington is irrevocably pissed off at the Commanders, from Snyder and Gibbs on down. He says the Skins will have no choice but to release him because he's owed 12 mil next season. To trade him they'd have to renegotiate his contract, and he's not about to do that for them when he can take them for 12 million bucks and then play where he wants the next year.

Now, this is just the opinion of a fan and may not contain a grain of reality at all, but if it were the truth, how would you like to see the guy in the center of Parcells' 3-4 defense? He's got attitude but he sure can play, and I'm willing to bet Parcells could break him of that crap where Gibbs could not. I'd take him and that big chip on his shoulder.

No Way. The reason why he isn't playing, as talented as he is, is because he simply does not do what he is told. The Cowboys do not need a renegade now.

Unless he changes his style and stops freelancing Parcells will not put up with him. However he would be great as a pass rushing lb but we already have DeMarcus Ware. I just can't see it happening.

Your friend. Needs to follow the situation a little closer.

I can't see it happening either, but he's the type of talent that would put the Dallas D over the top.

Or drop them to the bottom if he is freelancing instead of doing his job.

It would be interesting to see if Bill could make this man understand he could have been LT if he would just have learned some discipline.

My guess is it's too late for Lavar to max his potential now, and much too late for Bill to bother knocking heads with him.

:hammer:

I'd have loved to have him in recent years. Now wit the young talent we've brought in I'd rather not spend the :money: on a guy who may not get it.

Your friend is somewhat correct, LaVar is at odds with the coaches but I think it's more of lil Danny keeping him off the field. They were beefing over some loot that LaVar thought was in is contract but suddenly disappeared, so LaVar took it to court to have it settled and I think lil Danny took offense to that. Does LaVar freelance, yep, but he also makes a rack of plays too. You don't sit that kind of talent for the entire game just for freelancing. Hell, I bet LT did his own thing alot when he thought he could make a play and BP lived with it but he damn sure didn't bench him. This thing here in DC is personal for lil Danny and thats why LaVar isn't playing. Gibbs is a big name coach but you can bet that lil Dannyboy calls the shots at the end. I live here and I can't name but one of their LB's and that's M. Washington. You can't tell me that the others are better then LaVar. Trust me, its a personal issue with lil Danny and LaVar.

Arrington is the ideal 3-4 LB on the outside...he creates turnovers and is at his best rushing the QB. Don't let the Commanders' scheme and lack of use fool you.

The thing about Arrington is he gets pissed at the skins then forgets hes pissed. they 'tricked' him out of 6.5 million and he got pissed. then he reported for training camp and life as normal.

Hes so damn wishy wahsy, he dont even know when and who to get pissed at with out his agent, who he should be pissed at.

Hes a joke and a ME guy totally and I want no part of him for the boys. If you have such a talent why aren't you playing him. Per quotes, he makes 1 good play and then takes 5 plays off. He cant stay within the scheme, thinks hes such a talent he can free lance and make things happen. Maybe he can, but the coaches what you to buy into the scheme and perform your ROLE. he cant do that - screw him. I hope he forgets hes mad at the skins and signes another 5 year deal and then rots on their bench.

As for him being a Cowboy, I wouldn't like that at all but not for his lack of talent, I just don't like Foreskins on our team. Its personal I guess. The can play though.

Lavar gives up more big plays than he makes. He is a liability on D.

He is a highlight film player. He makes big plays... but not as many as the players that he was supposed to be covering/containing.

He is on the bench because the Skins are a better D without him. Any D would be. He would be ok as a situational pass rusher, if you can put up with the stupid penalties.

Exactly. Maybe we could use him if we're primarily brigning him in to do his thing. I'd stil be worried about it, though, if he wouldn't listen to Marvin Lewis, Joe Gibbs, or Greg Williams.
