We are 3rd in the league in sacks and it's basically because of those 2 guys. They are both in the top 15 in sacks.

The rest of our D line is doing a nice job around those 2 guys as well.

I just hope we can keep stopping the run because we are facing a team this week that can really run the football with 2 of the best RB's in the league.

Lawrence, Irving, and Lee really make this front 7 pretty good.

Rodgers is out too and none of these other NFC QB's really scare me if they can't get their run game going although Wentz is mobile and that gives us problems.

What Tank and Irving are doing is making our young secondary to not be exposed. Pressure tends to make secondaries much better and also turn people over.

This is true but our young secondary is now getting their feet underneath them and they are gaining experience every week. We are coming to the point in the season where a rookie who has been playing is no longer a rookie on the field...imo

Yes, there were several times when Smith either couldn't hold the ball or couldn't step into his throw.

I cannot believe how much better this defense looks with a pass rush. There were times yesterday where a receiver was open (or even wide open) but Smith had to either get rid of the ball quickly and off balance or was being hit as he threw, resulting in inaccurate throws and incompletions.

We've waited a decade for a pass rush and it's finally here. Such a shame that Lee missed those back breaking losses to the Rams and Packers early on putting us in a hole. This team is very, very dangerous.

You will get no argument from me with the way those two cats are balling. Defense is still too dependent on Sean Lee. Heath and Jones at safety is about as bad as it gets.

I thought D law looked like the varsity vs the jv against schwartz. He was in the guys head right from the beginning.

He's unreal.

It should be a lesson for the Taco bashers...

This is a position that is extremely difficult to come into the league and produce at a high level.

You won't know what Taco is for several years. That's just the way it is at DE unless you're a phenom like D. Ware.

You guys are right about the impact of the pass rush. There were a few plays where the secondary broke down and the pass rush bailed us out. At the same time there were a couple times the secondary held up and that resulted in a sack. Irving's and Taco's sacks were both largely due to solid coverage.

Heath never bothers me. I never find myself that upset with Heath.

Compare him to any other NFL safety and it's about the same. Teams give up passing yards in this league. It's just the way it is.

The linebackers are the guys on our team that drive me crazy with their coverage. We need better cover guys at Linebacker and we need to bolster up on our run D.

The best thing we have going for us long term is that Aaron Rodgers is currently out.

Other than a coaching gaffe the D gave up only 10 points, and who knows, that TD sparked the opening TD drive in the 2nd half.
Can we have just one game where the coaches don't screw up something.

But they all bounced back and did what they were supposed to do.
Irving and DLaw, who does a team game plan for.

Im not sure how to respond to those comments about Heath. Not sure I have ever heard more low standard drivel ever. You should be ashamed.

But dont worry you will be plenty upset when we get bounced from the playoffs because he misses a few game killing tackles.

Players like Heath and Jones are what is keeping this team from winning a SB.

We need to upgrade him but he's not a liability out there. If you think he is you're kidding yourself.

I'm hoping for Fitzpatrick in the draft. That's the dream but I don't come away from these losses blaming Heath.

Whats beat us this year is our run defense and death by a thousands cuts because our linebackers give up short pass after short pass.

Crawford's been playing well, too. Or rather, he's always played fairly well but it's a lot more obvious with the other two getting their pressure.

Gotta find a way to keep these guys together

You can't arm tackle Wentz. You gotta drive as his legs and grab him.

The other thing with Wentz? Slap the crap out of his arms.......... he's prone to put the ball on the turf because he holds the ball too long at times and loosely.

Let's not forget that Tapper may eventually return and add something to the mix. Right now he would probably be our 3rd best defensive end.

The contract blinds people. He's been playing effectively. Would I like him on a cheaper deal? Sure. But at this point, he's being paid what he's being paid and if he goes out there and gives quality play, I can't complain.
