Lawrence: "My expectation is to go out and get 10 sacks"

“My mentality is, I have my own expectations, I know what I need to do to be successful and help this team be where we need to be, Lawrence said. “It don’t matter what everybody else’s expectations is, it’s about the team.”

The Boise State product took it one step further when asked to clarify those expectations. Ware, now the Cowboys’ franchise sack leader, began his career with eight sacks as a rookie. Lawrence said he expects to do better.

“My expectation is to go out and get 10 sacks, 10-plus sacks – whatever coach needs me to do,” he said. “I really don’t think coach really cares about the numbers, he just cares about us doing our assignment and job, really.”

If he's going to, we'll start hearing about him being unblockable here in the next week or so. It's what we regularly heard about Ware, anyway. Anything less than 'unblockable' and I'm tempering my enthusiasm for an 8+ sack season.

sweet another player with high expectations. lord knows no other cowboys player has done that. this kid has got it. what it is no one knows yet, but good thing without touching an NFL field we know hes going to be something spectacular. Nothing less than now kiddo.

He's very unlikely to get 10. But he's also just talking about expectations. Personally, I'd rather have him put a big number out there publicly, and then have to work his butt off to cash the check his big mouth just wrote.
