Greetings Gentlemen ...

I usually just read the threads here on the site not wishing to get into some of the heated disagreements that arise..

So i offer this tibit heard on WFAN between 5:30 to 5:45 est. as a neutral .

Gaints LB A. Pierce in a spot on the WFAN stated(this is as close i can recall). They may have given Julius Jones the spot but its Marion Barber that we were concerned about..

If you had been able to hear the whole statement on the subject it leaves no doubt on who he believes is the best RB on the Dallas squad..

Thanks for the tidbit...Yeah, I don't see what the real revelation is, honestly...I maintain that there isn't anything to JJ's game that is better than Barber (Even if he's a better blocker, is he a more effective or dangerous runner?)...What we should be doing is seeing Barber play more.

Yeah. Everyone agrees.

Except for the guys who work most closely with the two RBs -- the coaches.

Thanks for the tidbit but Peirce made the same statement to Troy Aikman last season in preparation of our matchup last year in NY. Aikman went on about how Peirce and several other Giants' defensive players felt Barber was the RB that really concerns them.

Antonio Pierce doesnt coach any positions for the Cowboys

maybe he should worry more about watching how-to film of LB's playing in coverage

Isn't MBIII also a FA after this season? If that's the case, it means we could lose both of them and I really want to keep MBIII. BTW: It entirely possible McFadden could be the first player selected and the team picking first might not be willing to trade the pick so we can draft him. We gotta have a major backup plan to go forth with if we still need a RB or add a RB in FA and use our 2 first rounders to address the CB & a WR/DE/DT position.

And now TWO coaching staffs have picked JJ over MBIII. Why does everyone ignore that fact?

People love to prop our 1-2 punch, fans & coaches alike.

But I don't know any coaches who would prefer the Julius/MB3 combo over LT or LJ or Steven Jackson or the other top solo guys.

The 1-2 punch is a consolation prize and you can point to their combined stats all you want but when you get that chance to pick one of the top solo guys that's what you're going to do.

We'll get that chance in the 2008 draft and it'll be bye-bye Julius when we do. And I've always been a big Julius fan even though I think I can be pretty honest about his limitations.

And I think Julius will also be anxious to go somewhere else where he can chase his vision of being THE guy, and he'll talk himself into believing that whoever offers him a contract will give him that shot. The reality though, I think, is that Julius is plain and simple a one dimensional average 2nd tier guy.

I also don't believe Barber is the top shelf feature guy we're looking for.

I agree, however the last few Superbowl teams all used 1-2 punches. Indi had Rhodes and Addai, Pitt had Bettis and Parker, New England had mainly Dillon in 2004, but had Faulk and Smith the year before.

Dont you guys see whats happening here? If we see that Barber is better, the linebackers see it, and the coaches probably see it. Jerry wants Julius.... What Jerry wants is what Jerry gets and hes obviously not ready to give up on Julius.

Exactly. Barber will get his time. It's coming. It's so blatantly obvious.
