Romeo Crennel will turn that team around. He has a lot of work to do, but I fully expect them to improve greatly under his leadership.

What are you talking about? The guy is a probowl center and a probowl guard. Wouldn't you want to get paid if you were one of the best in your job setting? If he becomes a free agent Dallas should outbid any and all teams. To make cap room we could cut Larry Allen who is a shell of his former self.

Great idea...improve one part of our offensive line by getting rid of the best offensive lineman on the team. The unit would be weaker as a whole...what would be the point?

Bentley is an upgrade over Allen period at any position. Besides Larry Allen is going to make 7 million dollars next year. He is no longer worth that kind of money. I'm pretty sure Peterman was drafted to take over for Allen. Thats why he was kept at that position all of last year. Another possibility would be to resign Gurode or sign Fonontui to play the LG position. Either would be much cheaper and have starting experince already.

Adams, Gurode, Bentley, Rivera (unfortunately), and McNeil/O' Callaghan/ or some other 2nd round tackle. Not a weak line at all.

What young FA guards are out there? Hutchinson, he's not going anywhere. If I'm not mistaken Gurode was a much better guard than Rivera. I do agree that we are too old on offense, but you got BP to thank for that one. He wants to win now and it might come back to haunt us when he retires. We gotta get Peterman in there. How else are we going to know what he is capable of?

The only reason he started was because of his signing bonus. BP would have looked really stupid if he played Gurode instead of Rivera. Rivera was a better guard. The back injury took away his power and explosion and he was overwhelmed at the point of attack. Compare Gurode last year to Rivera this year. Gurode and last years Oline were able to allow Juluis to run for over 700 yards in 7 games. This year even with a healthy Adams Jones only got a paltry 3.3 yards a carry. What changed? the RT and Guard postions. Rivera over Gurode and Pettitti over Tucker. The tackle postion is about even. You do the math.

I cant see any scenario where the Saints dont franchise Bentley...I dont know why there are so many threads talking about getting him, because he isnt going to be truly free
