1. Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

I don’t really care whether people think Bosa should have run faster than a 4.86, because 40 times barely matter to me when evaluating a 4-3 defensive end such as Bosa. His movement skills were elite in the agility drills, running a 6.89 3-cone and a 4.21 short shuttle, while posting a 10-foot broad jump that more than proves his explosiveness. In the drills that mattered, Bosa tested very well, even registering a pair of 1.69 10-yard splits.

2. Jonathan Bullard, DL, Florida

One of my favorite prospects in the draft, Bullard tested even better than I thought he would athletically. He was explosive as expected with a 1.66 10-yard split, and showed off impressive agility with a 7.31 3-cone at 285 pounds.

3. Shilique Calhoun, EDGE, Michigan State

I had doubts about Calhoun’s ability to prove to teams he could drop and play in space as a 3-4 outside linebacker, but the Spartans edge rusher was impressive during Sunday’s combine drills. His 4.82 40 was just OK, but Calhoun’s 1.69 t10-yard and 35-inch vertical were both solid marks. He really stood out in the agility drills however, with a 6.97 3-cone and 4.25 short shuttle.

4. Kenny Clark, DT, UCLA

Lost amid a deep defensive line class, Kenny Clark continues to quietly work his way into the first-round conversation with a 1.72 10-yard split at 314 pounds. I thought he looked great all day in drills too, really carrying his weight well with exceptional balance and fluidity.

5. Kamalei Correa, EDGE, Boise State

Well, in the NFL when chasing down the better QB's than faced in college, speed can be a factor. But I don't think I would hold that against Bosa.

Nothing like being disappointed in the 3 cone and 40 time of DT's that weigh 310+ pounds

As a top 5 guy I probably would. He strikes me very much as Chris Long. And I worry he will be the same sort of solid but always overpaid and not outstanding player.

Yes, his speed and a top 5 prospect and being white all flavor that a bit, sue me.
But he is also a very large DE and lacks elite speed but did dominate in college which was Long to a tee.

Could also use Greg Ellis here as a comp just to take race out of it:)

I keep hearing he was double and triple teamed on every play. I haven't watched the film on him yet, but if that's true, that would explain the drop from 13.5 to 5. It also would validate a top 10 pick.

I've only seen a couple games, but he was double teamed pretty often on running plays in his direction. I saw a triple team once or twice (2 linemen & a chip from a TE or back).

I'm confused about Bosa. I don't like him at 4, but I could be very wrong.
