No it isn't, but why don't you answer it anyway? What player's progress was being stopped by Sean Lee?

Yes, it's a very stupid and snarky type question that does not deserve an answer. The answer is obvious anyways if you understand football.

In retrospect, Lee's been a progress stopper. He hasn't played even close to a full season yet but is the defacto starter. Now we can move on now in May instead of in Nov or Dec. If you can't see that, then that's your problem.

Progress stopper? Who has he been stopping? We FINALLY decided to draft his backup. Has he been stopping Bruce Carter's progress? Because when Sean Lee went out last year I didn't see any of the guys he's stopping from progressing decide to step up. This is insane.

Not a blessing in any way. The defense will struggle without him. Some ppl will try to spin anything into a positive. Even when our best defensive player goes down, that is somehow considered a 'blessing' by some.

Just when the optimism was starting to creep in... It got sucked right out of me.

Thanks you.

If you took what I said as a compliment then you must be living in the Twilight Zone. You obviously don't realize what an impact player Lee is. He makes more plays defending the pass than anyone on the Cowboys defense. Although he played in only 11 games last season he led the defense with 4 int's including a 74 yard pick-six. You might have to go all the way back to when Deion played for the Cowboys to find a longer int return for a TD than that.

Deion only had ONE season in his entire NFL career in 94 with SF where he had more int return yards than Lee did last season. Lee's 174 int return yards were more than all our defensive players combined last season. Even with 18 missed games over his 4 year NFL career he's had 11 int's including a pick-six vs Peyton Manning in 2010 as a rookie and you're calling his season ender a blessing in disguise? LOL

This is a disgusting thread. Make me sick! He IS our best defensive player by far and we are here cheering this on?! ACL injuries happens all the time now. It's common injury. You are all just tasting sour grapes.

I'm going to say this once to everyone else who post's negative crap about Lee is just disrespectful and I agree with you that many just want to say negative crap just for the sake of being negative. Yes, Lee has been injured... alot... but he has been a consumate professional here putting everything on the line every play, every season. Maybe it is time to move on from him but to be so venomous in a lot of these comments is just.... sickening is the only word I can come up with. Just my rant ... moving on.

Blessing? He's our best defensive player when he's on the field.

Key words there are 'on the field' - which is not very often.

If anything, it at least shows us if our LB depth can play in this league or not. If they struggle, we'll at least know if they can hang.

I would imagine one could make the connection with the progress of the team by backing a player who has shown a propensity for injury.

However, that alters the meaning of that phrase slightly since progress stopper, to my mind, implies a player who is older and has lost skills and is playing in front of someone who is missing critical snaps to meet their expectations.

A player with a reputation from the past, riding that and taking away a spot for a younger guy.

I don't believe anyone here doesn't see the skill set of Lee. His injuries are not indicative of a loss of skills. The only progress Lee could have stopped is the contract he signed which straps the team in the future. But with the playing time caveat, it is not near as bad as the one Spencer signed to sit out.

Everybody is disappointed because of this. We all react differently to these types of changes.

This is not Lee's fault, nor Martin's.

If, and this is a huge if, you wish to apply blame, it should go to Jerry for signing a huge contract.

I see nothing in this injury that benefits Dallas.

Other than the fact we know that counting on future production from Lee is pointless and finding a long term replacement is much more urgent I agree. At least it happened sooner rather than later.

Let's face it. Lee wasn't going to be able to play most of the season anyways. I mean he hasn't for his whole football career basically. He's too small for his position and plays at 100% all the time. It's a blessing in disguise that he's out for the season in May. This gives the GM plenty of time to come up with an alternative. We may not have a player for the opener who's as good as Lee is, but at least we'll have someone who's had a chance to learn the system and not be thrown to the wolves in game 6 or 9 as in years past.

Dang. Was thinking the same thing. Unfortunately it's better to have this happen now, rather than have something like this cripple us after game one or two.

So, in your opinion Dallas will not give this guy a shot next year? Even with their financial commitment. And you determined this guy will never play? I agree with heading toward another player. But I believe they were trying to do that this draft.

People put a band-aid over their emotional wounds in different ways. So the grousing and finite statements about Lee is understandable. But I don't believe even if he played every down he was going to be the difference maker for this defense. Or this season.

There is nothing about this injury I find positive.

That's because you aren't trying hard enough.

This is a blessing.

Once you see it this way, you too will be blessed.

I'm sorry Vintage, but if this miracle was to move Lee out and change the defense over the next season before the first game in 2015, then I disagree. Because no matter what, this team has an aging quarterback.

However, if Dallas goes 3-13 and has the number one pick, and they select a quarterback - maybe that could be good news.

But it is a stretch to suggest there is much if anything here that is a step forward.

My post was sarcastic. Sorry if that didn't translate over well. I see nothing positive from losing Lee.

He was one of our few playmakers in the front seven.

He's been stopping the organization from acquiring and developing someone to take his place.

There has to be specific Player already on the roster. Your last post indicates we dot have that guy on the roster yet. Therefore, hes not a progress stopper.
