He's been stopping the organization from acquiring and developing someone to take his place.

Are you serious? I'm still trying to wrap my head around your comment that Lee is a progress stopper for a player you can't name and now this? Do you have any posts on the board prior to Lee's injury stating that he's stopping the organization from acquiring and developing someone to take his place? Of course you don't it's nothing more than a frustrated comment by a FAN who's living in the moment. Lee who's in the prime of his career just signed a big contract extension at the beginning of last season and you expected the organization to start looking for someone to take his place after just resigning him?

I have a post on the board from 2 weeks ago in a debate over Ware stating that the Cowboys will be lucky if Lee plays 12 to 13 games in 2014 and will end up another bad contract by Jerry. Everyone was complaining about Ware being injured but he only missed one game for the Cowboys in 9 seasons while Lee's total will be over 30 missed games at the end of this 5th season. Some are saying we need to move on from Lee but after resigning him just last season the Cowboys can't move on from him unless he can't play anymore.

His contract is going to cost the Cowboys at least Murray after the 2014 season even if he has a big year because Dez and Tyron are up next for extensions. If Dez has a big year in 2014 Jerry is going to have to break the bank to resign him. He'll be demanding at least $13 million a year which is along the lines of the top receivers. Carr will be gone after 2014 with the truckload of money he's due from his ridiculous $50 million free agent contract. Claiborne another one of the china dolls on the team who's been a huge disappointment with injuries and mediocre play won't be seeing a second contract.

With all the holes the Cowboys currently have on defense with the loss of Ware, Hatcher and Lee who's career could be done after a second ACL and with the added holes that will be coming up in the next couple of years with the departure of Carr and Claiborne it's going to take several solid drafts to rebuild the defense. The Cowboys will have plenty of opportunity to fill their many holes defensively with all the top ten picks the team will likely be having the next few years. Unlike you who tries to find a silver lining with every obvious negative I tell it exactly like it is.

With Romo aging and coming off back surgery and Witten slowing down all the pressure will fall on the Cowboys offense in the coming years. When you have no pass rush and have a secondary that can't defend the pass against even average QB's it's all going to fall on your offense to win games. We all know what happens when Romo has to do too much and with his back situation he may not be able to do as much. The Cowboys have played a lot of games without Lee but not without Lee AND Ware. When you lose your pass rush from last season and the player who led the defense with 4 picks there isn't any positives that can be spun out of that.

That's the stupidest analogy I've ever heard. Absolutely stupid.

This is coming from a guy who claimed Lee is a progress stopper for a player you can't even name and has prevented the team from looking for his replacement.

You're glad it happened now and not later, when you think it would be worse.

(overlooking the fact that it's bad no matter when it happens)

Seems to fit to me.

Of course anyone that finds Lee getting injured as a blessing is not going to agree with my take on this anyway. LOL

I said it was a blessing in disguise. I didn't say it was a blessing. What's your problem? Go troll somewhere else.

If you say something is a blessing, or is a blessing in disguise, .. guess what, .. you have said both are blessings.

Anyway, .. I posted in this thread, .. not quoting anyone or directing it to anyone in particular. You turn around and quote my post, bashing me, .. and then ask me "what is my problem?"

After you quote me and bash me out of the blue, .. I should be asking what is your problem. LOL!

That one takes the cake. "I didn't say it was a blessing, I said it was a blessing in disguise"

There is no silver lining to Lee's injury. It stinks all the way around.

I think players get a different sense of urgentcy when they know they will be the guy counted on. Hitchen no doubt knows he must increase his work load he does not have the luxtury of sitting behind Lee he has to step up now. And again it is not just Hitchens it is getting others ready we can't have the backup become the starter and then move guys around to be his backup mid season.

You absolutely can move guys around because you can't go 15 deep at every position.

These guys are professionals and they know their jobs are about as insecure as can be. As for urgency, any player who has that sort of attitude likely sticks out like a sore thumb. Coaches aren't just oblivious to the game.
