always one of my favorites.
so sad to hear.
i remember a rumor that had Coach Landry not been fired...Marty Schottenheimer was someone he'd have been interested in as an asst coach and eventual successor.

Hate to hear that. He got a raw deal in SD I think he had them headed in right direction would of been interesting to see what they could of done next few years.

Nothing against Tom Flores, but Schottenheimer was a much more consistent coach and should be in the HOF.

Reminds me of coaches like Bud Grant, Chuck Knox, and Marv Levy. Just solid, great coaches.

RIP....I have to say I was happy when he was fired in Washington after one season because he was building a smash mouth football team and philosophy there.

Very sad news. My aunt was a photographer for the Chiefs in the 90's and I had the pleasure of meeting him and having dinner at his home. Heck of a guy, very fun talking football with him as a kid.

RIP.
