Based on this article it does not seem the restaurant has a good reputation and posting the receipt has produced negative feedback.

Tipping isn't automatic. He gave the waiter this tip so they knew he didn't forget to tip.

It's pointless to really wonder or ponder on why he left so little. Maybe the service was terrible. It happens. But it's pathetic to act like that either way. Unless the service was just absolute garbage I'd never leave such a scumbag tip.

It's just another case, IMO, of a professional athlete who gets a kick out of being a jerk off to people who don't make the money that they do. I wish the NFL owners could pay these players each week by the manner in which they played. I bet he'd think twice about doing something like this if he got paid 20 cents after a poor performance.
