We got burned twice by Moss. Shame on us for being burned the second time by exactly the same play. But this should serve as a wake up call for the HC and DC. Our safeties aren't very good playing deep coverage....News Flash! Also, they are going to learn that T New is playing slot so they'll move their 5th WR into the slot and leave their #1 or #2 out wide where they can match up with Glenn.
Teams are going to watch the films and keep going after these major weaknesses.

Time for a little change!

How about in regular nickle or 2nd and 3rd and long situations, we play our best CBs on their #1 and #2 WR? What an innovation? :)

In prevent situations (I know it's a forbidden defense to use), rush three best DL, move RW to LB slot and play Ware as other LB....and blitz one of them. The other remaining LB drop to cover mid range passes. Other 6 DB's drop back in coverage. Now, instead of having a BACKUP safety replay RW''s spot, MOVE ANTHONY HENRY INTO THE FS slot. He's a great playmaker and can act as last line of defense. Remember he intercepted 10 passes playing that position. Move J Reeves or N Jones into the CB slot that Henry vacated. I bet we'll never allow TWO deep completions within 2 min ever again!

I would just like to have the coaches say "hey, let's have our fastest corner cover their fastest guy, NO MATTER where he lines up." They knew the 2nd time that they had an older and slower Glenn matched up with their fastest WR with no blitz coming. I like Aaron Glenn alot, but he is not at the point in his career where he can cover a speedster like Moss, it reminded me of the time I watched Darren Woodson try to cover Rocket Ismail one on one back in '97...what a disaster.

We all knew it was coming. They knew they could get that mismatch again and that we would do nothing about it.

I don't like Henry at safety because I feel that he needs the contact with the receiver and his focus only one on guy...not a half of a field and the backfield of the offense. Let him do what he does best and cover, bait, and stuff the run on the outside.

*sigh*

yeah, that's it. This is the first time that I have ever wanted Zimmer gone. I am a huge fan of ALWAYS putting pressure on an offense and finally have had it with Zim. I am tired of screaming at the TV that he needs to blitz and force the QB into bad decisions, especially with our secondary. When he has 3 mins to make a decision, then no secondary can cover for that long.
