The first thing that catches this fan's eyes, is this:

  1. The Packers' defense, specifically their secondary, is the biggest weakness of their team. If Dallas can control them up front (mostly Mike Daniels), they should have no problem running or passing the ball at will against Green Bay.
  2. The matchup the Cowboys can expose is that of the Packers' weak cornerbacks. According to Pro Football Focus, all three of the Packers' top cornerbacks have graded outside of the top 90 at their position.
  3. Their top two cornerbacks, Kevin King and Damarious Randall, have been exposed all season on the outside.

Not only should Dez Bryant be able to feast upon this young secondary, but so should Terrance Williams, Brice Butler, and Cole Beasley.

The next thing that catches this fan's eyes, is this:

  1. Through four games, the Packers' run defense has been gashed. They have allowed over 110 rushing yards per game in the first month of the season. Teams are averaging over 4.2 yards per carry against Green Bay and have rushed for 23 first downs.
  2. As you dig into the numbers, though, the Packers' rush defense is even worse than it appears. On first down, teams are averaging 4.88 yards per carry and they have given up seven runs of 10 yards or more, according to Pro Football Reference.
  3. This should prove to be a very strong game for Zeke Elliott.
  4. Here is the gateway: Since 2008 (when Rodgers took over), the Packers have lost just 13 of 73 games after having a lead after the first quarter, according to Pro Football Reference. Dallas' entire team is built around establishing a lead early. The Cowboys use that lead to continue to run the ball and control the clock as they protect their defense.

On the defensive side, a trio of Sean Lee; Anthony Hitchens; and Jaylon Smith should be able to be the glue between the defensive line and secondary. The stats Anthony Hitchens in the middle, are very strong against the run. That also takes some of the pressure on the strong and weak sides of play.

Work in a Durant and Wilson into packages and rotation, and the linebackers should start to dominate somewhat.

Since Rodgers loves the quick releases, having three 'rooks' that are talented and fast twitch players, should make progress in the air...more difficult. Then mix in Scandrick, Brown, and Jones and things should tighten up behind the line of scrimmage.

The 'rooks' all like to hit someone with the ball and wrap up.

Now comes the good part, as Rodgers has been hit quite a bit in four games...suffering 15 sacks. DeMarcus Lawrence just happens to be leading the NFL in that category. He now is joined, by the likes of Irving, Collins, and Paea. Mix in a combination of Mayowa and Moore...well, Rodgers should be getting off the turf a lot.

Is Lee playing? If Hitchens and Lee are a go, I'm shading Collins at 1T and putting Irving at the 3 as much as possible. Especially if both their Tackles are playing in this game, particularly the RT. Id also probably start Crawford at strong side DE on running downs. This is assuming a nickel package.

The 3-2-6 base would probably be Lawrence and Irving/Collins depending on down and distance. Irving/Moore at SDE. I'm not sure how many snaps Crawford has gotten in that package, but I'm sure he sees some at SDE on longer distances.

If the RT is out, im guessing they'll see how our young guys match up against the backup. Logic tells me to give Lawrence over a rusty Irving, so I wouldn't be too surprised to see him get snaps at RT against a backup. I think their starting LT is an All Pro so wouldn't expect to win that many matchups there. He is questionable though.

Speaking of which, did people know La'el was questionable? We know Tyron is. Not optimal.

On defense, if Lee is out it's going to be a pain. We don't have a WDE that can do half of what he does.

We do need to play up on the receivers more this game, with or without Lee. Contest everything, and if they get a big play, fine. We know they're going to score but if we don't force turnovers we won't win this game.

I'm guessing the starters are Brown/Scandrick and Awuzie? Nelson, Cobb, and Adams. Decent matchups. Id like to see Lewis get some snaps against Cobb, Adams too. Id be tempted to ease Awuzie into this one.

I'd really like to see Woods get more snaps this week. This is a perfect opportunity to give him a chance and see what he has against a HoF QB. I know they wont, but I'd start Woods this week after they probably prepped for Heath, and I'd have some disguises set up for when Aaron attacked Woods, because you know it'd happen.

Anywho, hope Lee plays, and if their Tackles miss that's pretty huge for us.

I cannot fathom a time or situation where I'd prefer Alfred Morris to touch the ball over Ezekiel Elliott.

maybe not but if EE cant do it and MOrris is, you gotta play the hot hand. Its like forcing it to Dez while others are open, its not working.
