Seriously, I can't think of one thing good Garrett does. What does Garrett do well? I'm not trying to be smart. If someone asked me to name one thing Garrett does well, I'd draw a blank.

I'm sure we all could name numerous things Garrett does very poorly. :) I have no clue why Garrett was even hired let alone still masquerading as head coach.

He brings absolutely nothing on game day. Nothing. No fire, no lobbying the refs, no pulling players on offense or defense over for instructions, no clock mgmt, no game mgmt, nothing.

He stands there and smirks and claps and grins and loses.

You summed it up perfectly. That was great.

Listening to some of the excusing making for Garrett, I'm left wondering what coaches even do. I mean, whenever the Cowboys lose, it's not Garrett's fault because he doesn't play.

Amen. Some of these people-mentioning no names of course- they are just chugging the kool aid. All is great with their team. lol. They are generally the ones that are sitting here now saying that the team will be in the playoffs and anything can happen. Then, when the team is 7-9 or 8-8 and misses the playoffs, their stance is that "this wasnt supposed to be the year anyway...we made great progress and are developing as a team".

yeah right. They need to take another swig of kool aid.

Supposedly, Garrett calls all the shots and Jerry just listens. Right?

Even if Garrett was perfect in his play calling today and this clusterfudge of a game was simply the result of players not executing, isn't it still Garrett's fault since the team is filled with players he handpicked.

I don't want to have hear "It's not Garrett's fault because he's not on the field" all week. It's already giving me a massive headache.

I've been saying this for years. Jerry is comfortable with the Garrett family and JG is the last link to the 90s dynasty around Jerry at the moment. He just doesn't want to fire him.

There is probably something to this.

Jerrah is probably afraid to go forward without Garrett.

Once Jason is gone, he will be alone.

But I don't think that is going to happen..

Not any time soon.

Barring a remarkable turn around, he's going to have to fire him eventually. Jerry will be personally devastated.

What other HC - winning one anyway - do you see being constantly implored by his players and other coaches during the game to DO SOMETHING.

Ryan had to do it repeatedly last year and we see Romo and Dez doing it all the time

The guy has done nothing to show that he is a qualified game-day coach. NOTHING. Yet we have people insinuating that he is as good or better than Andy Reid. Are you kidding me? The Cowboys' homers are out in full force tonight, thats for sure.

This is true. After four consecutive non-playoff seasons, interest in the team will wane. When it does, Jerry will have to make a splash to rekindle enthusiasm. He can't sign a big name free agent because he's cash strapped. That leaves a coaching change.

Before anyone says, "We're America's Team. Interest will never wane!"

Don't be so sure. This would only be the third time in Cowboys history they've missed the playoffs four consecutive seasons. The first was back in the 60s, well before they were America's Team. The second was during the late 80s, which was arguably the most tumultuous time in Cowboys history.

OP, stop stealing my material from the last three years. ;)

Charming the local media and many gullible fans. He is good at that.

As far as actual football things, no, he's not particularly good at anything. He's a replacement level coach.

Garrett is the best coach we have had in a long time.

He went 5-3 in his first half year with a team that started 1-7. . Went 8-8, with a still re-building team. Then he went 8-8 against a tougher schedule. That's progress.

Let's see how this year ends up.
