Darren Woodson, commented on the team set going into this game:
The Cowboys don't have any fear. There's no fear. There's nothing to lose going into Green Bay to play this game. I'm talking trick plays. We just saw the (Cowboys) play the Washington Commanders last week and they blitzed continuously. The entire game. First time all year. They don't have anything to lose. This team has no fear. And that's why Rod Marinelli is blitzing everybody. They don't care right now. They're at a point right now where their backs are against the wall and that's the worst team to play against.
They're a game out. They know they can run the ball. They can take chances deep down the field.
This weekend, Dez Bryant will be targeted more than he was last week. They will air it out this week because they know they're the underdogs. They're gonna take their shots. And they have a legitimate chance. Nobody's afraid of going to Lambeau Field and Green Bay. The Packers don't scare anyone.

IRVING, Texas -- On the Washington Commanders' first play Monday night, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli called a safety blitz.
Safety Barry Church helped Demarcus Lawrence sack Kirk Cousins and establish a tone for the game. Marinelli called another one on second down, resulting in a pressure by J.J. Wilcox.
The Cowboys limited Washington to 266 yards and a 4.4 yards average per play. They gave up 15 first downs and just one touchdown, in part, because Marinelli kept the pressure on Cousins all night with an array of pressures from linebackers and safeties.

Defense, Defense, Defense- Many times this season I have used the Cowboys defense as a reason why they would beat their upcoming opponent. Of course, two-thirds of the time the results haven’t been favorable, but it isn’t because the defense hasn’t held up their end of the bargain. In fact, defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli has this Cowboys defense playing very well indeed. You may be surprised to find out that Dallas has the number five defense in the NFL. That’s right, The Cowboys are fifth in the entire league in total defense. They have been particularly good against the pass, allowing just 225.1 yards through the air per contest. This is not merely a case of teams taking the path of least resistance either as Dallas has held opposing offense to an average of 104.1 yards on the ground. The Packers are not a particularly stout running team, and if the Cowboys secondary can continue to play as well as they have so far, this could be a long day for Rodgers and company.

Going into this game, the Dallas coaching staff has been catching heat from nearly every bystander happening to be in their vicinity...including Jerry.
After a very aggressive game by the Cowboys' defense in Washington, there likely will be an amped attempt on both sides of the ball, to create havoc for Green Bay. On a team such as the Packers, who is having injury problems beyond belief, this may be a major tool to turn the proverbial corner and getting squared up for a real black n' blue run, in December. At least there will be no hiding room behind excuses for this coaching staff...if they don't challenge fate and do something for real.
The receiving group for Green Bay, is much worse off than things were for Dallas at the beginning of this very season. Their receiver group has salt tablets and tape all over the place. But that applies to their offensive line as well. If Dallas can't again take advantage of an offensive unit here, then the talent in it's box area needs to be seriously reviewed for changes in the next upcoming season.
Challenge and a positive turn-over ration should be prominently seen in the statistical evidence left following this very game.
Before the opening kick off, this group of Cowboys have a real chance to make a valid move in the NFC East. And it would come at the expense of a competitive Green Bay team...
