This is a challenge to all the butt-hurt mediot parrots on this board who have now swallowed the conventional wisdom and now are calling this an 8-8 to 7-9 team.

So let's see it. Here is the schedule. Show me what games this team will probably lose. Don't just pull things out of your ***. Don't pick them to lose games we know dang well they'll be favored in. Show me the 9 losses that we should lose.

@ Tampa Bay - W
NY Giants - W
Carolina - W
@ Denver - W
@ Kansas City - W
Atlanta - L
Seattle - W
@ Philadelphia - L
@ Green Bay - L
Washington - W
Oakland - W
@ NY Giants - L
San Diego - W
@ New Orleans - W
@ Washington - L
Philadelphia - L

That is 10-6, and I see that as reasonable. That would even be with going 2-4 in our Division, which I doubt happens. Probably 3-3. Give the Giants game 2, and we are still 9-7, but it is extremely unlikely we go 1-5 in our division. But even assuming that, still 9-7.

I look forward to bozos posting how we are going to go 0-5 in the final 5 games and other ignorant claims.

I am looking for a 11-5 or 10-6 season but it is a tough schedule and I only see 3 or 4 games where Dallas can win that they wont have to play a perfect game for.( Den, Seattle,KC and Oakland ) no other easy games

No one has to play a perfect game. We only have to play better than the other guys. We have the talent to beat them. We just have execute better than the other team.

To say we have to play "perfect" suggests that we are just a team of complete runts who all have to play perfectly to stand a chance against those big bad opponents who are so much better than us. Nonsense.

They certainly could lose to San Diego and New Orleans late in the year as well as NY in week 2. There you have it, 7-9. Will it happen? I doubt it but it certainly could!

I don't buy into a 7-9, but here goes:

We could very well lose both games to the Giants, lose to San Diego and lose in New Orleans. We could also lose to at Denver or at KC, because that's just how it goes in the NFL.

The reason for the predictions are because:

1. Did you see how we played in December last year?
2. Wade Phillips is still our head coach

I have high expectation I predict 11 to 12 wins however these teams we will face are not cake walks. It is great to have confidence in the team but don't kid yourself many of these teams we will face are capable of going out and playing good football.

I agree that since the vast majority have us between 7-9 and 9-7 that my surprise team of the year is US! I just feel everything is moving towards another 11-13 win year.

- MUCH better locker room
- Better, more agressive defense
- MUCH more balanced and consistent offense
- Much improved special teams soon
- Coaches now know how it is to coach in Dallas
- Easier to be the spoiler than the favorite

I mean specifics are hooey, we could just as easy lose to San Diego at home or sweep Washington. Who knows. But I really feel more wins going our way than not.

That could very well happen not saying it will but it's by far the toughest stretch of games on our schedule

A few injuries here and there and it could get very hard to win any of those game, if we go into those games as banged up as we where at that time last year we'd be lucky to win 2 games

I see us maybe going 11-4/12-4 with no major injuriess. Lose an OL for several weeeks or longer and it gets worse.

Anyone keeping up with Phil Loadholt, the OT we passed on to trade down? Can't remember who got him, but I find myself wishing we had taken him instead of trading down.

It's all about injuries, who and when, that will determine the season.

Ok, let me first say that i thought the cowboys were a 7-9 or 8-8 season team this year, due to what the eagles and giants did in the draft and cowboys didnt get any impact players in the draft and free agency. However, (which sometimes i am a homer and i will buy into the hoopla), but I think the cowboys will go anywhere from 8-8 to 11-5. This all depends on what the backups do as improving, better coaching, special teams and more hitting in practices to keep the players sharp with keeping the players working out in the weight room.
Rememmber romo said last year he talllied off some because it was hard to do because he was sore and beat up some. But you cant do that because your muscle mass detoriates.

So, here is where I say the cowboys improve by 2 wins over last year, due to special teams play and beuhler kicking off deep, and lost yardage isnt lost due to poor kickoffs, thats a total of 7.3 points a game right there. We lost 4 games due to 6 points or less last year.

So, due to heavier tougher schedule, I am only giving the cowboys 2 more wins than last year.

@ Tampa Bay - W
NY Giants - W
Carolina - W
@ Denver - W
@ Kansas City - L I feel that since Haley knows our players he will treat this game as a super bowl like the rams and cardinals did last year.
Atlanta - W
Seattle - W
@ Philadelphia - L
@ Green Bay - W
Washington - W
Oakland - W
@ NY Giants - L
San Diego - W
@ New Orleans - L
@ Washington - L
Philadelphia - W

So, thats a 11-5 record. I am still hoping as a cowboys homer, leading with my heart not my head. The real me says you should wait to late november and see if the same team shows up in late november or december. BUT my heart says believe! Even though the cowboys have let us down the past 13 years.

Yep. Any of that is reasonable. I think 8-8/9-7 is more likely, but thinking that 10 wins is automatic is silly in this league.

Edit: I think the most likely way to get to 7-9 is 2-4 in NFC East and losses to Carolina, Atlanta, NO, San Diego, and GB.

A non homer look at the schedule:

@ Tampa Bay - W
NY Giants - L
Carolina - L
@ Denver - W
@ Kansas City - W
Atlanta - L
Seattle - W
@ Philadelphia - L
@ Green Bay - L
Washington - W
Oakland - W
@ NY Giants - L
San Diego - L
@ New Orleans - W
@ Washington - L
Philadelphia - L

Dallas is not getting by Giants and Carolina back-to-back like some seem so convinced of. They will loose 4 of their last 5 games because its basically the same leaders on the field and same coaches. If Dallas does not get off to good start...I dont think Romo commands enough respect to rally the team...they will play flat for much of the season as talk of Wade being replaced because media focal point...and we know how this team handles adversity :(
