Let's Do This. Show me this is a 7-9 team.

I don't mind peoples opinions that this is a 7 to 9 win team. They just think this team is going to underachieve again. What is hilarious to me is that it's the prevailing opinion of the media, not just an odd opinion here or there.

Look, this team has the look and talent of an 11-5 team (which is my prediction btw). Conservatively they have a top 10 caliber QB, defense, and offense. They also have had a thorough housecleaning of every last malcontent, which has provided the lockerroom with a completely different feel.

The most important factor though, and the biggest reason why I think this will be a very successful season for the 'Boys, is that this team has an unmistakable chip on it's shoulder. They've been all business all the time and everyone is overlooking them.

I can't believe more people can't see how perfectly set up this season is for a big time run.

You sold me.

Spagnola had something to say I found insightful. Take it for what it's worth and I'm not saying it excuses anything.
Paraphasing him:
After blowing the division game in 2007, he got the feeling the team just wanted to start in 2008 play-offs. Not that they felt an entitlement, but that they just wanted to get back to the spot of their failure.

Either way, I can see the 2009 Cowboys having a seldom seen perfect mix of talent, hunger and humility.

Perhaps a team that works and puts forth the effort of a team coming off 9 wins, yet has the talent of a #1 seed.

I think we are in for a disappointing year. I think we see 8-8. Maybe 9-7. Everything would have to absolutely go right for us to get to 10-6, and even that might not be good enough to make the playoffs.

@ Tampa Bay - W
NY Giants - L
Carolina - W
@ Denver - W
@ Kansas City - W
Atlanta - L
Seattle - W
@ Philadelphia - L
@ Green Bay - L
Washington - W
Oakland - W
@ NY Giants - L
San Diego - L
@ New Orleans - W
@ Washington - L

I'm really confused by people assuming we're so much worse then the Giants after they lost even more of their offensive tallent we did, and we completely destroyed them the last time. How often does a team give up as many many points as they get sacks?

It probably has something to do with us not scoring as many points as the Giants did in 2008, or giving up more points than the Giants did on Defense in 2008. The Giants were 12-4, and 2nd in the NFL in point differential at +133. We were 9-7 and -3 in point differential. Who is the better team? (yes i know, romo was missing for 3 games, etc. etc....but the Giants were far and away the better team last year and I don't think much has changed).

Hard to see any team with those credentials going 7-9 or even 8-8.

This is a challenge to all the butt-hurt mediot parrots on this board who have now swallowed the conventional wisdom and now are calling this an 8-8 to 7-9 team.

So let's see it. Here is the schedule. Show me what games this team will probably lose. Don't just pull things out of your ***. Don't pick them to lose games we know dang well they'll be favored in. Show me the 9 losses that we should lose.

That is 10-6, and I see that as reasonable. That would even be with going 2-4 in our Division, which I doubt happens. Probably 3-3. Give the Giants game 2, and we are still 9-7, but it is extremely unlikely we go 1-5 in our division. But even assuming that, still 9-7.

I look forward to bozos posting how we are going to go 0-5 in the final 5 games and other ignorant claims.

9-7 at best currently. The regular season is 16 games long not 12.

Bozo out.
