With the possible end of the salary cap we couldn't be in any better of a situation in regards to our rebuilding status.

If we can acquire talented young offensive linemen now, we could be good for a very long time. Getting a young receiver this year would also be a great boost.

Not that it is limited to the end of the salary cap, but with that being possible, it would be so much more key.

* LeCharles Bentley - C
* Kevin Shaffer - T

We could do this next year

Shaffer - Allen - Bentley - Rivera - Adams
Rogers/Petitti - Peterman - Johnson - Gurode - Columbo/Pettiti

And then draft a guard.

I'd say signing Bentley and Shaffer would turn our offense into something special overnight. We wouldn't really even need to upgrade the receivers at that point.

If anyone can answer my question, what's up with Jacob Rogers? People were talking about how he quit. Did he suddenly come back?

As many of us believed before, we retained his rights.

He is probably going to get another shot with us. And considering how bad our tackles are... we need him not to be a bust.

ok thanks.

And in reply to your post, I like Bentley and Shaffer alot. That would make our line great. We have the money, now we need to spend it.

He never officially was let go, so the decision has apparently been made to have him come back again.

Amazing, I know, but true.

Chiefs/Bronco's - curious what the age is on their starters last year?

We need Flo back at LT -
Probably bring Fabini in at reasonable Vet contract at RT.
Allen is at the end of a great career - Peterman is in the wings.

Petitti will get better a year in program and healthy. Al Johnson beat out the versatile Gurode at Center. We will draft Oline somewhere this draft again.

Bentley - is going to be way overpaid. Pass - not likely to happen.

Too bad JJ/Lacewell couldn't draft worth a lick 1995-2002. In fact - 1999-2002 only Roy is left on the team.

... yep, and we wonder why we're such a horrible team. 7 years of wasted drafts. Actually, the bad drafting started in 1994 ...the April after Jimmy left. Just look at the results.

Throwing darts at random names would have netted us more talent than what JJ and Lacewell brought aboard.

I like it, however, I understand Bentley may want more $$$ then Mr. Jones is willing to pay.
