If we lose to the Giants Sunday:
1. It doesn't mean we are frauds.
2. It doesn't automatically mean we will have a below .500 record in December
3. It doesn't mean we won't go to the Playoffs

I'm hearing some of this at work today and it is somewhat surprising to hear fans say this.

The Giants are not a bad football team and they are certainly capable of beating the Cowboys, especially with them being at home and extremely desperate at this point.

I would be very disappointed if we lost the game but I don't think it means any of the 3 things I mentioned above.

I think there's no way we don't make it to the playoffs and make some noise this year.

However, what would make me most angry is all of the woofing we'd have to hear from Brandon Jacobs and other Giants fans. The worst also would be the Eagles and Commanders fans suddenly coming to the Giants fans' side as well.

I don't even want to know how many the sky is falling threads would be started if we lose on Sunday. Hopefully we'll just put all that to rest this year and not have to read anymore of that junk.

You mean losing to a solid team on the road doesn't mean impending doom? What? There must be some mistake.

We all know the stupidity that is looming -- if we don't win every single game, especially this month, it's going to signal that the disaster has begun.

Gonna be a tough month to follow this team in the media almost no matter what happens.

Losing to the Giants this week would be devastating. It wouldn't end the season, but it'd make what should be a downhill playoff run into an uphill climb.

I think this week is the most important game of the season.

And I think it goes a long way in helping determine this team's as well as the Giants' fate for the rest of the season.

If that makes me "negative" or a "Chicken Little" so be it.

But I really think the Cowboys need this one, for a multitude of reasons.

seeing how we are going to play the chargers and saints after this week, i say it is extremely important to win this game.

Losing is not an option. The Cowboys will win this game.

We're going to beat the Giants. Put it in three-inch letters. And the game's really important to us because of implications down the line. The good thing is the game's even more important to the Giants. They're going to be loaded for bear, and we're going to beat them at home, anyway.

For my 4000 th post I will simply state, we need to come out and dominate this game and play to our talent level and show some killer instinct.

I know what you meant, but I think after losing to them once already this year, this game is very important. If you want to soften the blow of a potential loss before the game is even underway, that's fine, but losing the first game of December could be disastrous in a lot of ways both real and imagined.

It isnt a good sign.

This

New York is reeling, and while we will get their best shot and I won't be surprised if we lose, this is a game that we SHOULD win if we are the team everyone seems to think we are (namely, a different one than the groups that have collapsed in December over the last 4 years)

You know that if we lose this game the December slump trend will get into our guys heads

The next game is always the most important of the season. ;)

I agree. It's high time we play consistently up to our talent and not down to our opponents'.

I don't have the "oh well we can't win them all attitude." This is a divisional game, it's an important game to set the tone for the rest of the season and most of all the play offs.

Swept by divisional teams is never good in my book.
