Let's just relax a little bit and realize the Eagles are not the Raiders

Well that and the only time Dak has played the Fangio Eagles earlier this year he threw for 180 yards and his lowest YPA of any game this season
 
I knew the playoff talk would crank up again if Dallas beat the lowly Raiders. But...

I will admit I thought the Raiders would give Dallas a harder time than they did. The way the game started I was almost out the door on Dak, but he cleaned up his act pretty quickly.

The Raiders offensive line is terrible and every one has been doing to them what Dallas did. I am not ready to declare anything is fixed with this defense just yet.

What I liked was the intensity the Cowboys brought last night. They were swarming the ball carriers all night and pushing the pocket. It was good to see.

But the teams they faced the next few weeks are on a different level than the Raiders - and the Cowboys. The Eagles defense is the best I have seen in a long time. At every level they are really good. Their defensive line makes everyone better. The Cowboys offensive line will have to play exceptionally well. Dak will have to play exceptionally well. Schotty will need to call a good game.

I get excited when we are leading the division and have a inside chance for HFA in the playoffs, having beaten some really good teams. 1 win against a terrible team is not going to do it for me.

Having said that, could we win? sure. We could also lose. It all depends on what team shows up next week, and just how improved the D is against good teams.
 
The Eagles offensively haven't been that impressive this season and that is what makes their team beatable. Whether or not the Cowboys defense shows up against them who knows. But as far as their offense goes, at times the Eagles haven't been much more impressive that what the Raiders offense has been. Their defense has been carrying their team. As the Eagles offense has scored under 20 points in their last two games.

If their offense doesn't improve then it's only a matter of time before they run into a team who has the offensive ability to put up points against their defense. Which will put the Eagles in a hole they can't get out of. Whether or not the Cowboys will be that team will be answered on Sunday.
 
Yeah, it's kinda crazy how bad the raiders are this year. I think Chip Kelly might have called the worst game i've ever seen. Granted we had some new personnel on defense, but how do you not go right at the worst run defense in the league? It should been Jeanty left, right, and up the middle. But we faced an air attack. Bizarre.

On a side note, that was a cowboy heavy crowd. Great turn out for us.

This purgatory is gonna continue into next year… with a pick in the late teens, and a dementia riddled on owners/GM

I’ve said many times, Division games are just a different animal. The Raiders gave Denver everything they could handle last week in Denver, losing 10-7. Miami easily thumps Buffalo, winning by 3 scores. The Ravens were lucky to escape with a win against Cleveland.

I expected a close game against Philly before last night and still do. I wouldn’t wager big money on Dallas to win, but wouldn’t likewise bet bug money for Dallas to lose.
 
Weren’t we like a CeeDee drop away from beating them already this season, with significantly fewer defensive personnel in place?

If it is close then it's more likely going to be because of their offense continuing to struggle. Which will eventually catch up to them if their offense doesn't improve. They're 8-2 but really can't afford to keep hoping that their defense holds opposing offenses to under 20 points like they have done in the last couple of games where Hurts only needed to get one TD.

There will be some game where their defense has an off game and it's going to be on their offense to have to put up points to win. Sunday will tell if the Cowboys have the ability to make the Eagles offense do this.

You know very well we should have beat the Eagles game 1. How many dropped balls did Ceedee drop? Dak would have had 300+ yards if he makes those catches. Dak has owned the Eagles.

Agreed their offense is awful and losing Johnson is a crusher for them. But their defense is elite and playing really well. Could be a close game.

180 yards is owning now? Ceedee catching those balls doesn’t guarantee Dallas wins; it just doesn’t immediately end the game. But Dak could turn the ball over on the next play., or Philly forces Dallas on losses of downs, anything can happen after that

It’s like the phantom DPI at the end of the lions game Sunday. That doesn’t suddenly make the Lions automatically win. Ceedee prevented you from having a chance not to lose; very different than Dallas won if a catch or two was made
