If we're going to have to cut some good players, let's look to swap with some teams for their difficult cuts.

Surely, someone is heavy at center, guard, or defensive end that needs a good backup running back, outside linebacker, or receiver.

Let's trade, rather than release and take our chances in the waiver world, if possible.

Just curious, when was the last time we made a player trade?

Why would any teams trade assets away, for players that will get cut anyways?

We'd have to convince the other team that we're not going to cut them. Tell them we don't want to keep X number of whatever position, but we just can't cut so-and-so.

Two years ago with the Alex Barron/Barbie Carpenter trade.

Thanks, now I have to gouge my eyes out. :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Use the old 'The Colts have expressed interest, he'll never make it to your waiver claim' story to get some teams to cough up conditional picks. They'd fall for that, right?

What is with all the head banging? Carpenter wasn't going to stick around anyway. He was on his way to being cut that year. Unless you are saying cutting Carpenter and getting nothing in return was better than Barron being in Dallas. :lmao2:

I agree. However, I think we should shop Felix, as well, in order to keep 2 promising young RBs.

When was the last time we cut players that could actually play?

We only seem to trade picks for other teams players in recent years.

To keep from having to compete with other teams. If you have a good center that you have to cut, but you need a running back, why not trade for that back and not risk losing him in the waiver order process.

It take two.

Who do you propose we trade?

I keep going back to the thought of trading Felix Jones.

As this is in all likelihood his last season in Dallas, I'd like to get something for him while we still can.

And the younger backs have looked very good so now is definitely the time.

I know that Detroit is looking but I don't know the pick they offered.

Anyone else know?

Going to have to cut either Olawale or Dunbar, Holmes or Coale, Hamilton or Lemon or Wilber, etc.

Either make a small trade, or trade a Felix or Connor for a like name if you think the younger guys can give you what you need this year.

Lots of decisions going on today.

For what it's worth Barron's holding penalty (among other things) lost the game vs. Washington that year sooo...

Erik Walden, Danny Amendola, Tom McCann, Matt Moore, etc.

I'm with you.

Trade! Trade! Trade!

Anyone thot it odd that Felix got some action?
Anyone think he is trade bait?

Anyone thot it was great that McGoo gots lots of playing time and excelled?
Anyone think his showcase was a prelude to a trade to a QB-depleted team?

I say trade everone on the defensive front save Ware and Lee. Let us build a quality defense with those two as the foundation. I am tried of the journeymen Hatcher and Ratless.

Did Felix play in the final pre-season game? I don't think he did, I no I don't find it odd since it didn't happen.

It isn't unusual for the 3rd string and 4th string QBs to see all the action in the final pre-season game. Dallas has been doing that for several years now.

Ratliff is not a journeyman.
