After we beat the gints we were worried about the N.O. game down the road and most, gave us a loss vs them.
Then we said "If we can go down and beat Atlanta ,we should run the table after that game. And we beat Atlanta on the road.

What's different???

I'm sick and tired of the media on T.V. ,radio and news paper saying "If the Eagles win out they win the division", Yea, that's right ,but I don't hear anything about " If The Cowboys win out ,They win the division" and the last I noticed we're in first place !!!!!

Philly beat Carolina by 2 points and if it wasn't for the INT at the end , they would have lost to The Panthers. Then they beat Wash. by 3 due to an INT. by Campbell .

Then they go into N.Y. and beat the gints which pains me to say ,did not play very well.

I know the iggles are on a roll but (as a wise man, who will be in the unemployment line @ the end of the year, said )" LETS NOT CROWN THEIR BUTTS YET"

(i have to use the word "butts" because i was bad previously and got yelled at for using a bad word.)

.
This game is being all hyped up because of all the Anti Dallas sentiment in the media.

I'm definitely not taking this game lightly, but with the revenge factor , being at home ,and the prize we're playing for, I think we win Mon. nite.

So lets not over react to whats being said by the Media. They're just being the Media.:espn:

Even Sirius NFL radio (normally fairly non-biased) this morning was gushing over the fact that the Eagles control their own destiny. I think, however, Dallas has some say in the matter.

Well, I think most people, myself included, are completely surprised by the fact that the Eagles are even in this kind of a position to win the division still. I think most people (again, myself included) had them for dead when McNabb got hurt.

True but then these are the same people who wrote Philly off after McNabb went down. To tell the truth I thought Philly would die off and go away but they didn't they hung together and put themselfs in a position to play for the NFC East. I think the gushing is more a reaction to the fact that Philly is even in the running. I'm not concerned about the Cowboys being up for this game after all this is Philly we are talking about and I think if Dallas plays to their ability we will win this game but I do understand why Philly is getting their current praise by the media and I don't think it is anti-cowboy as much as it is shock

I would have to agree with you on your take. There was no anti-Cowboys sentiment. However, I expect this sentiment to come from ESPN.

Exactly. Hey the fact is they've won 3 straight and are playin pretty well.

Why not point out that if they win they take over the division lead.

If they do, they'll have earned it. While they would've won 4 straight when it "mattered" we'll be talking about how we gave it away by dropping 2 out of the last 3.

I think the pressure is far more on us to win than them. They can be motivated to shock the world and steal the division. Whats our *real* motivation.. keep from looking stupid by gagging down the stretch?

Course the saving grace is we've already clinched a spot so I wont be looking for bridges to jump off should we happen to lose.

The term "control their own destiny" is usally associated with the teams chasing for a spot. Even though it's true for the leaders, but that is obvious, they are in the lead and everyone knows they control themselves.

I will be at the Christmas day game....a meaningful game too.
Not that I would mind if Dallas had everything already wrapped up and the game didn't mean as much.
But the place will be rocking.

This is an extremely dangerous game for the Cowboys. It was a little different situation because seeding was not on the line, but the last time we had clinched a Playoff Berth and still had a game(s) to go was in 2003 and we laid a horrible egg in that game.

This game scares me, one because the Eagles are not in the Playoffs, so they will be hungry, and two, because our defense is really having issues.

The Eagles love to throw to their backs and attack the flats, plays we are having trouble with to say the least.

I'm already having nightmares about what Westbrook and Buckhalder will do to this "defense."

True.

I watched Ron Jaworski breakdown some of our Plays against the Saints.

He said that Payton & Co. noticed that when the Cowboys were spread out, they had a tendency to Blitz Ware and that left the Flats on his side wide open.

The Falcons also beat us constantly on those type of plays.

I heard Parcells on a Ticket sound-bite pretty PO'ed and said it was the same people making the same mistakes on those plays.

Here's hoping they won't fall for the same play 3 weeks in a row :beer2: .

Honestly, all of this Eagles hype is a result of one reason only: TO.

McNabb gets injured, so they don't have that angle anymore. Yet, they have another QB who is playing well and has had problems with TO in the past, coming into Dallas with a chance to beat them in their own house and steal the division crown away from them.

If this happens, it's like an orgasm for the media. Not only do they get to hate on the Cowboys, they get to show that a team they predicted to be better without TO is indeed better (reinforcing their made up notion that it was TO's fault that the Eagles collapsed), and at the same time have the team he went to lose to the team he was responsible for the destruction of.

That's all it is, and most people should just turn their head and cough.

Im pretty sure it has something to do with them winning 3 straight games and being in control of their own destiny.

I could be wrong though.

You bet.

Hell even BP touched on that not long ago.. something to the effect that "we control our own destiny and nobody else in the division could say that".

Well this just in.. now they can.

I know what you're saying but to me its better that they are still fighting to stay in the playoffs versus here to just ruin our parade with no shot at making the playoffs. that's usually when you get the crazy onside kicks or going for it on 4th down when you normally wouldn't . stuff like that really scares me within the division. not only do they want to win cause its a rivalry but they pull out all the stops as well.

LOL. Most teams are in control of their own destiny. This is another overused, cliche phrase.

Winning two games against losing teams, and then beating a team that is a sinking ship is hardly enough to get the hype they are getting.

they were bad with McPuke, but this shows you #1 he's totally overrated and not a good fit there at this point and #2 the NFC has collapsed aside from Dal/NO/Chi.

to the media philly is a good story, altough they're no threat to do anything in Jan. it would be nice to have 3 teams from our division in the playoffs.
