100% Agreed this is what I've been wanting. We've seen what Weeden can't do its time to move on....
in another direction. Cassell has looked fine in the past at QB. Christian Michael more physical back
than Joseph Randle. He can get the inside tough yards. Here is the overall issues with the Cowboys:
1) Weeden maybe due to his ability, the gameplan and missing Dez never keeps the
Defenses honestly by taking some shouts 20+ yards downfield. This is allowing teams
to move their linebackers closer to the line of scrimmage. This is shutting down our
Running game and the intermediate passes to Beasly. This is the reason the offense stinks.
The thing that makes me want to move on from Weeden is the fact when being pressured
he constantly moves backwards eventually getting sacked. The better QB's step up in the
Pocket and hit their intermediate Receivers or take a shot down field. This will also stop
Defenses from hogging the line of scrimmage helping Running game and intermediate passes.
Solution: Move on from Weeden since he is rather shallow minded to see what he is doing wrong.
Hope the next guy (Cassell) figures this out quickly. Quality QB depth behind Romo needed.
2) Get Dez back quickly but possibly the move to Cassell might actually help too. This shows
the Cowboys lack a #2 WR that can become a #1. Terrance WIlliams is not a clear cut #2 WR.
The Cowboys have a #1 in Dez and #3 in Terrance WIlliams and Beasley. Quality #2 WR needed.
3) Defense will be fine and much improved especially with Hardy and McClain back and Gregory right
behind them. The Defense is fairly solid but the Offense makes the Defense look bad. No one can
expect them to stay on the field for 65 to 70% of the game and produce the same results late in the
game as they might early. Improvements on Offense drastically needed. The only real improvement
need on Defense is takeaways but once all healthy this might improve.
4) 2016 NFL Draft in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Rounds some Offense is needed. Needs are QB, RB and WR.
