you guys would piss and moan after 3 years just like you do every other coach.
Not to mention all these random coaches would install a new offense and a new defense so you could kiss a championship goodbye for years till they get it right.
garrett is the only logical choice, but I would rather wade stick around with garrett at OC.
This whole change for the sake of change crap is annoying and would be counterproductive.

Bill Cowher

Holmgren would be the perfect fit here in my opinion. He's already on great terms with Jerry and he's a coach that demands respect. Coach Holmgren would also keep Romo in check with the turnovers and bone-head plays. Just look at old clips with Holmgren and Favre; we need that type of leader in the head coach. The main reason why Holmgren would be perfect here; He's not just a coach, but also a teacher.

I think defensively I'd rather keep Wade here...I think we'll really see what Jason Garrett can do this year now without the need to try and get creative to get any one player involved in the offense.
Yup, I'd have to go with Garrett of all the choices, but it scares the bejeezus out of me who he'd select as DC.Alexander;2832565 said:That's part of the double-edged sword. You can't live with Phillips and I honestly worry what happens without him.
Garrett might be ready to be a head coach if he proves last year was just a fluke. But he has next to no experience running a team nor is it obvious who he would have as his coordinators, especially on defense.
If Phillips were fired tomorrow, who would run the defense and would they continue the 3-4 tradition that Jones seems to have married into? There was the idea it would have been Capers, but he is in Green Bay now. I would guess perhaps Grantham, but he was largely ineffective in Cleveland.

I've always been a HUGE fan of Bill and the way he kept the Steelers, for the most part, very competitive during his reign in Pittsburgh despite having to lose players nearly every year in Free Agency and his owner not really going out and spending much money to replace guys. I just find that to be quite impressive.
Mike Shanahan - This would be what I'd call option 2a, or 2b, out of the Mikes. I'd be ok with either or, as a second option to Bill, and I wouldn't be upset, in the least, to have Shanahan.
Jon Gruden - While I think his interviews would be great, and he'd provide a lot of entertaining comments and such in the games and stuff for people to laugh about, or at, for years I'm not too sure he'd be all that great an HC here. I mean he's really only been a great HC about 2 years out of his entire coaching career and one of those years he took over a team that was already put together for him, by someone else, and ran into the one team in the Superbowl that he'd know absolutely everything about.
Not that I take that away from him, and his win, because if I did that then I'd have to do the same thing for the Cowboys 1977 Superbowl win because of just how well Tom Landry, and the Boys, knew Denver's QB Craig Morton. You still have to go out and execute, and play the game, rather you know the person or not. That just means they had an advantage and took full advantage of it.
On this list he'd be the absolute last option, IMO.
Mike Holmgren -See the other Mike comments above and you can pretty much apply them to this guy as well. I wouldn't be upset, in the least, with Holmgren. I happen to really like the guy and he's an impressive coach who has been able to make a team competitive in both his stops and has taken both his teams to Superbowls. 3 appearances for his teams, although only the 1 win but they were there which is much more than we can say for the Cowboys in a long, long, long time now.
Brian Billick - The only thing that keeps him from being last is Gruden and actually they're probably interchangable. I'm really not much of a fan of Billick, at all, and I think he's vastly over-rated because of how great the Vikes offense was with Moss, Carter, and Cunningham in 1998. The guy just isn't that impressive to me.

I don't see Bill Cowher as falling into that category. I don't think there would be a gesture from Jones to give up the level of control he apparently craves.
