We have a very good chance at going to Bye week at 5-3.

Last year we were a team going nowhere.

Our D totally sucked, bad. Undersized and aging, lil pass pressure or turnover potential. In fact gave up more points than any Parcells coached team ever.

Look at the transformation! We tossed Coak, Dat/Als seeing less reps. 3-4 Young Big guys working in. Spears, Canty, Ware, Rat, Fergi and bigger LB's in there. Fujita, Shanle, Burnett. Last I checked D is #6 overall and all in all taking it to teams.

Do we have some cardiac prevent issues - yup and that's fixable.

We are with out JJ past 2 games and staring 3 out. FIGHTING SOME INJURIES AND ? COACHING our offense is upgraded to date. Bledsoe and Glenn al in all having very good seasons to date.

We are poised to storm into a big Game @ Philly. What I like most about this team - no one has knocked us out or come close to putting us away.

We have to get over last weeks loss. A new week and a huge win puts us right about as best we could have expected. 5-3! WHO really thought this was more than a 10 win team? I waffled on 9-11 wins as about right.

Good post, especially the last part about no one knocking us out. Actually the Raiders beat us worse than anyone and we again played it conservative most of the game but still had the chance to win it at the end.

We HAVE to learn to go for the kill when we are given those golden opportunities like we've had in the past 4 weeks or so.

Killer instinct, thats lacking and it is emenating from our coaches.... the one game they really opened up we whipped Eagles.

On Bledsoe and issues - I feel real confident that all his ills start with 3 step drop plays. If its not open line gets into his face fast and he struggles.

He's best at 5 and 7 drops, shotgun where he can get after the field and has some distance on Dline Caving pocket - JMO

As I've said before, I see no reason to be overly excited. This is a team that can't play well consistantly on a week-to-week basis. They followed up the beat down of Philly with a terrible showing against the Giants that they were EXTREMELY lucky to win.

Even if they go 5-3 into the bye, I think a loss at Philly is likely, making them 5-4. If you look at how the season closes out, the only gimmie game is Detroit. Trips to NY, Washington and Carolina will be killer, not to mention having to play Kansas City and Denver, albiet at home.

I agree with you, it seems to me like they went into that game (vs Eagles) thinking the offense was going to have to put up some points to keep up with a potent Eagles offense. Since the defense has been playing better they seem to be more concearned with chewing up the clock and getting FGs then scoring TDs. They get 2 turnovers in the redzone and run the ball trying not to turn it back over instead of going for the kill shot. The mentality is where up by 4 lets make sure we get at least 3, instead of lets get 7 and put this thing away. If that wasnt the case they would of thrown the ball on first or second down one of those times.

I agree and my biggest complaint on this "conservative" gameplan is offensive players never totally buy into it...

Its ok to control clock but you get in kill shot range - pull the trigger!

There's no question that there is a lot to be optimistic and excited about. The frustrating thing is knowing that this team could be a couple of steps ahead of where they are right now. The good news is that the problems are fixable, and we can hope that they are addressed soon.

i really do not think we will win no more then eight games this year. i think we have a good chance to win this week. if we lose this game then i think we get beat badly to eagles after the bye week. we can beat the lions and rams at home but maybe pull out a win against the broncos or chiefs. i just do not think we will win another road game this year. the coaching staff is totally killing this team on the road. we need to take more chances on the road but we dont. 8-8 in my opinion is the best we will end up. now if we end up with more wins i will be the first one on this board to amit i am wrong.
