I didn't see this posted anywhere, and I thought it was interesting........

Matt Leinart fired his agent Leigh Steinberg today. Nobody has been reached for comment so nobody knows why yet. Last week another USC player, Winston Justice fired Steinberg as well.

I wonder if the two are somewhat related. Both players from USC, both fired him right before the draft. Can't wait to find out why.

Steiberg is one of the rare agents you don't feel like you have to take a shower when hearing him speak

Wow - I actually kinda liked Steinberg.

As much as one can like a vampire.

Actually not.
Guys actually fall in the draft because they use the Post-its.

Why risk falling in the draft, insure acrimonious early relations with whomever drafts you, and plan on sitting out all of training camp?

Rosenhaus is a scumbag who gets his players top dollar, the Post-its are about making a name for themselves.

The Cowboys avoid their clients and Dallas is one of the better paying clubs in the league.

Yeah, it would be interesting to learn the rational behind this decision. Steinberg is generally considered one of the top agents in the business. I know that the Cowboys respect him as representation. I can't imagine him doing a bad job for either USC guys. For Justice, it would seem to be the perfect choice what with his backround. I don't know.

Because all the inter working's runor that have been written suggested Steindork's former partner that split off from him was the real brains behind the operation and he was the faceman.

Steindork is not even close to what he use to be as the premier QB agent that he once was. Could it be Steinberg may have been causing problems with the Titians (Um the palce Matt would like to go with Chow) ? Just maybe Steindork was floating out his client wanted 1st pick money even being picked 3rd or something stupid like that . That would be my guess on the whole ordeal.

I suppose anything is possible. I did not realize his reputation was so horrible around the league. I have certainly never heard this from any source. I guess it could be true but still, the proof will be in the pudding. Let's see who they pick as replacements.

It would seem to me that if Steinbergh was so horrible, neither player would have considered him to begin with. You would think that both players were getting good advice from USC on who would be a good fit for an agent. Pete Carrol and the rest should know who the NFL would respect. At this point, it's pure speculation but it will all come out in the wash.

Nothing about players and/or agents surprises me anymore! This stuff is like everything in the business world........money is the bottom line with no loyalty on either side anymore! And besides who will care about this unless the new agent(s) hold their players out and they miss training camp! Again, bottom line, baby!

Yeah, Steinberg's partner did rat him out as a lazy bum who got all the recognition for work he didn't do. This could viewed as just a spat between two former colleagues, but the proof is in who the players sided with. Two third of Leigh's clients decided to go with his partner. That says alot on whether or not his partner was being truthful.

Rosenhaus, may be a scum bag, but its that kind of business, I really thought he had gotten TO screwed, but he stayed with the program and look at the $$$ he got with his record....

Any chance Leinart will go to the Cowboys?

Not unless Dallas plans on moving up into the top 2 to 5 picks of this draft which would be very costly to go from 18 to the top 5
