And yes you were right about Kenny Gant, he did the shark dance on special teams. Man I miss that swagger

Back in August, how would you have felt If I told you Cowboys would be 4-1 with a QB controversy because we have 2 franchise QBs.
Yes think about that...

What would have been your reaction?
I would not have believed it.
Zeke being a monster - yes, but Dak playing like the #1 pick - no.

We can argue all we want about Romo and Dak. We may win it all or not this year, but the franchise is looking way way up!

Whether Romo starts this year or in 2017 or not, we can now devote the next 2 drafts to mostly defense.
We can easily add 1 FA and 1st round pick to the defense in both years.
We have some needs on the offense - WR2, backup G and future RT.
But these can be had with round 2 picks and round 3 picks.

Imagine that, that makes 4 premium players on the D.
We may lose the 2 CBs and we need DEs and LBs.
But we now have the resources to make the D really good.

Imagine 2017 off-season:
FA - premium FA such as Wilkerson for LDE or the Pats RDE
#1 pick - BPA between CB/LB/DE
#2 pick - WR2
#3 pick - BPA between CB/LB/DE
#4 pick - BPA between RT/G
#5 pick - BPA between RT/G
#6 pick - BPA
#7 pick - BPA

If we lose Leary to big contract, we will get high compensation pick for his replacement.
The way he is playing, we may get a 3rd round comp pick.

We can even do the same draft in 2018 though a QB should be drafted somewhere.
I don't know where to start with that post.

Dude..

it's only the fifth game and we are still unclear about Sunday..

how do you go off and run off all these if then that"s.?

Try to just enjoy what is happening.

You remind me of a Hitler..no offense.

Hitler just wanted Austria then the Sudatan Land then Poland, then Czechslovakia, then Denmark then Poland then France, then Europe then England then Russia..

then the world.

It doesn't work that way.

The best lied plans of mice and men..

you know the rest.

Just ask Jerrah?

The title of this thread was "life is good", was it not?
We were just having fun quizzing each other on old nicknames for Staubach, Doug Donnelly, Gant, Hollywood Henderson...
Where do you get off making personal attacks out of no where calling someone "Hilter"?
Hilter killed millions.
Which planet are you from?

We all have different reasons for liking the Cowboys.
Many live in Dallas, etc., some like the history etc.
I happen to start following the team in the days of Landry, the calm cerebral calculating innovator who pioneered the use of computers in football, the flex defense, etc.
So that means I enjoy the cerebral part of the game, which seems like you are objecting to.
I also happen to detest the mindless Eagle/Giants fans close to where I grew up.

Watching the game on sunday was fun.
Some of us like enjoy the team building part also.
Is there something wrong with that to call someone Hilter?

Is there something wrong with a fan wanting more dominance?
Fan = zealot, does it not?
When does that become Hilter who killed millions of innocent people?

A lot of fans dont like Jerry.
I guess you are one of them.
I happen to like Jerry because he is one of the biggest fans and really cares, despite all his mistakes etc.
I like Jerry because he is trying to build the next dynasty, not just some mediocre team that may win a few playoff games once in a while.
He just needed a calculating salary cap person and a personnel guy.
Out of 32 team, la'el collins picked the Cowboys because Jerry was the ultimate salesman-fan.

Most fans want to enjoy the game next sunday, I do.
Some fans wants the next dynasty, I do.
Is there anything wrong with any of these?
IMO, it is ok with tanking 5 years to get the pieces for the next dynasty.
Just like what the 76ers tried to do in basketball.

Look at the thread and you can see many fans recognize the pieces coming together, not just me.
If you are a fan and see the pieces coming together for 5-6 years of dominance, would you not be excited.
That is obviously called a dynasty, and this could be the 3rd one in the Cowboys's rich history.
That is part of the fun for some of us.
If you do not like someone's approach, you dont have to respond.
Instead you choose to make personal attacks - Hitler???

Sure, plans often do not pan out.
Any idiot knows that and murphy's law can strike at any time.
It is not as if most of us can actually change what the team does.

Yeah I don't get why you had to ruin the good vibe we had going on this thread. We're talking about how good things are going and having fun with a game and you compare the OP with Hitler? What? Even if you didn't mean anything by the Hitler comment, using that as an analogy to define this season is bizarre and it made no sense.

OP- "Hey I'm in a good mood about this season"
You- "You remind me of Hitler"
Okay, well I'm going to go back to having fun in this thread, please don't compare me to Stalin or Sadam Huessein. There's nothing wrong with having fun.

The reference about Hitler was stated as No Offense.

It was an analogy most could understand as I try to keep my posts understandable by a common denomenator.

Therefore my analogy about taking over countries by whatever means.

I was not calling you Hitler..

I merely referred to your statements as putting me in mind of Hitler.

I am an expert on WWII artifacts having been a collector and dealer for about 30 years.

It's part of what I do as I am an appraiser of it.

So I'm up on my WWII history and am quite correct in my metaphor.

Again..

Your answer is way off base..

the topic is Romo and DAK..

not your little attempt at character assassination or to label me as a zealot.

I'm a Cowboys Fan..a former naval officer, a former police officer from Palm Beach in my day and I do not relate to your dribble.

So you will have to either drop it or move on.

Now..shake hands and let's watch football.

Yes, I very much want the Cowboys to ruthlessly crush the competition.
Just seeing the roadmap to get there makes me happy.
In Navy terms, it is kind of like us having F14s and the bad guys having MIG23s... with the difference in radar/missile range.

Seriously, images of Hitler implies cruelty beyond ruthless domination on the football field.
Kind of like the eagles fans that cheered Irvin's injury.
That is not me.

I can agree to shake hands and watch football.
Actually I was not calling you a zealot, I was implying that I was one.
And many fans are, or they would not be spending ungodly amount of time on this board?
