Jeff Heath played one of the worst games a Cowboys player has ever played.
He missed about 5 tackles in 1 game from the safety position.
That is absurd.
He also missed touching down a receiver that lead to another TD.
He deserved the criticism he received in full.

He has clearly shown the potential to cover ground and his tackling has gotten worlds better but he is still the very worst starter we have on the team.

Wilcox played well early but has been pretty shaky of late.
I don't know if either guy starts next year but i do know I'd rather have neither starting THIS year.

All you need to know is that it is one of the worst comparisons ever uttered.

Bates was a terrific, ferocious tackler and nickel LB/box safety that struggled in coverage and was a top 10 special teams coverage guy in history.

Heath is a rangy safety that struggles with tackling and angles (as a rookie).

Bates played in the SEC for Tennessee. Heath played at nowhere state.
Other than being white safeties for the Cowboys they have next to nothing in common.

I have seen Bill in old Cowboys videos & I know he had a reputation. We could use good solid tacklers. Huge need always.

Oh I'm sure you watch football, but if you think Jeff Heath will be our starting safety for years to come then you can take that part about understanding football out of your previous statement.

Seriously, why don't you just go watch some Jeff Heath highlights of that entire Saints game. Go ahead and watch the entire Lions game as well.

Stop it with your over reactions. Nobody said Heath will be "starting safety for years to come".
Nobody is claiming Heath will be the next Darren Woodson.
He won't be but he isn't some hot garbage like you are making him out to be.

I think it's you who need to watch the games without your Heath hater glasses on.

Actually the OP did make comparisons, and idiotic ones at that, so try and keep up.

Go bark orders to someone who cares. And actually his play against the Saints, Lions and Vikings was worse than hot garbage, so stop insulting hot garbage.

The only one overreacting is people claiming he is already better than Bill Bates, something I responded to in which you felt the need to chime in.

Nobody had Heath hater glasses on. It wasn't until he actually played that some people became objective as to his limitations. If you can't handle that then oh well.

It's obvious from your ridiculous posts, Heath must have stolen your girl or beat you up pretty badly.

Going to personal attacks eh?

Why don't you just stick to defending your future Bill Bates guy. It's obvious from your posts that your man crush of Heath might be something you should act on.

The biggest problem with us Cowboys fans, we are always annointing guys based on "potential" or a few decent games. Before the season, it was Matt Johnson. Let's see what he turns into.

I will say this. If Bates got dinged or banged up in a game you never knew it. Bates never got punked by running backs in the open field, and bates NEVERRRRRRRRRR ran away from tackles. Heath is OK, but we've been needing a great safety since Woody, and I'd almost promise it's not going to be Heath....

I'm kind of young but I never saw Bill Bates get embarrassed at safety ever like Heath did against the Saints and Lions. I never saw Bill Bates get ran over like Heath did by AP.

Granted, those are just 3 instances for Heath but Heath just isn't in Bates' class in any facet of the game and it's obvious.

With that being said, I do like his passion and work ethic. He doesn't let things bother him and he gives it his all. That's more than I can say for a lot of guys with all the talent in the world.

Bill Bates did not get thrown out there as a rookie.

Really hard to compare at this early stage

What personal attack? Man you really are sensitive when it comes to Heath, aren't you?
