I remember when he became our OC in the offseason. The opinions were mixed. Granted, the season is only one quarter of the way through. Yet still, there is a focus, a preparation, a level of prepared confidence that hasn't been realized on the offensive side of the ball for several years. You could see it we early on in the first two weeks when Romo would make some of his rust attributed mistakes. Linehan was right there next to him on the bench teaching. Nurturing.. In a very deliberate fashion. He's a true no nonsense guy and his level of care has really settled our offense into a nice groove.

The element of surprise is there because play action now works. It's amazing what can happen when you truly commit to running the football. Oh you're going to put 8 in the box? Ok. Well chomp on this... This offense has developed a bit of a personality or dare I say "identity" under his tutelage. I can remember the cries of recent years.

This offense has no guts.
This offense has no identity.
They Will toss inoffensive game plan out at the first hint of adversity.
They lack preparation.
Etc etc.

All of that has become a distant memory and I thank Linehan for colonialists to provide a level of comfort that is required to sustain a grueling season.

We had a good offensive line last year, we were averaging over 5 yards a carry and went way to pass happy with Callahan.

Linehan is a difference maker, he gets it. I like what he is doing, looks like Cowboy Football.

Add Zach Martin and this offense has a chance to dominate.

I disagree with this partly because of one reason: the only change to the o-line was zach martin.

I do think linnehan has been the bigger difference. The o-line was already good....it just improved one position.
Both Smith and Fredricks are a year older and better plus Martin is a massive upgrade. It makes a difference and that obvious from watching this team

It's a combination of things.

OL improved with the addition of Martin, it's another year together with the OL in each of their current position, no need to shift around from injuries.
Callahan focusing on the OL only, as well as the running game.
Linehan only person involved in calling the plays and the passing game plan.
Garrett now a true HC only, can focus on the entire aspect of the game.

Credit...the GM....LOL...had to get that one in there...even though I think JG had a lot to do with it.

The offense during this whole Romo era has been a lot of flash & not a lot of substance. Now with this O-line that doesn't seem to be the case. The play calling has been way more creative than it has been in the past but also Murray is playing REALLY well I don't think just anybody could come in and do what he's been doing.

In math, two negatives doesn't make a real number...only a digital reference.

Sometimes, all a team needs, is a single but dominant change.

One change? Over the past four seasons, all the starters on the offensive line have changed.

When you can run the entire playbook is open and the defense has to play honestly. It's the OL that is making the offense so potent although Linehan has brought some freshness to the package. Again, the playbook has opened and the players are executing. There is your difference. The coaches didn't suddenly go from stupid idiots to genius. If the pass protection can improve some more you are going to see something special.

I don't have many opinions in the offseason concerning acquisitions.. Thus far, the only opinion I remember having was Frederick was a horrible pick and a definite reach. Now, I just ignore the opinions I have.

Great perspective. We all occasionally think we're gifted with the ability to predict the future. I thought Frederick was a good pick but hated the Martin pick because I was too wrapped around the possibility of getting Manziel.

The offense now has an identity that can take us into double digit win territory. Ground and pound and then catch them sneaking. This is a clock eating offense which is the best thing a defense could ever hope for.

True, Our O line has been massively upgraded but the single most important change has been Linehan calling the plays instead of Garrett. THAT is the truth that some do not want to hear or accept. Ive seen Garrett abandon the run many many times in the past for no good reason whatsoever. And he was WRONG,....point blank, no excuses.

Besides,.....Ive also heard it said in the past, wrongly so I might add, that the reason we dont run is because we cant run behind our weak O line. Sorry,...makes NO SENSE AT ALL. Oh, the O line isnt good enuff to run block, but somehow it IS good enuff to PASS block 50 times a game and get our QB killed huh? Yeah....that makes perfect sense!

The line has improved this year, but as you point out, it was also pretty effective last year. Had we had Linehan's services last year, we probably would have gotten into the playoffs. There were a few winnable games that were poorly mismanaged from a play-calling perspective. As good as the line is now the delta in play-calling is a bigger factor vs. 2013.

Why do people keep saying this? They were a decent run blocking line. Ask Romo if they could pass protect.
This is a complete offensive line. That's what makes them so good.
