We're looking for bargains. Rumors on Twitter were watching greg hardy situation closely. Cheap 1-2 year deal

I don't see him coming cheap.

He's likely the one marquee pass rusher that will be available, so I don't see how he settles.

If we wanna play, we gotta pay.

And I hope we do. A difference maker like that would make this team an absolute Super Bowl contender.

Suh would likely play the most snaps of any of the DL. Yes, in Marinelli's rotation it would likely be less than what he played in Detroit, but he was rarely off the field there. I think he averaged playing over 80% of the snaps in Detroit. That's probably at the top of the league for DTs.

Every time there is a high priced FA it is linked to Dallas. I wonder if their was a Albert Haynesworth thread?

Yep, we are and will definitely look for bargains down at the "Goodwill Center" just like last year. Suh will not
even visit Dallas and Hardy won't either because he's not a JG "RKOG" candidate. If he was in the draft, he
would be placed in the box. Can you imagine the field day Dallas mediots would have with Hardy's reputation
being in our locker room. We don't need those kinds of distractions. Look elsewhere for DL grasshopper.

I'm certain that there there was one. If every past free agent was linked to Dallas, then that indicates that ALL of the successful free agents were linked to Dallas and all of he unsuccessful ones as well, rendering any "linking" meaningless.

This thread is meaningless. He is going to get payed much more than what we are going to pay any free agent. We are trying to sign Dez to a long term contract and have 20 unsigned FA's of our own. By signing one player, you would damage your future and create a depth problem. Who was the last big named FA that we spent 30 million plus on who ended up being worth it?

I don't know if you know what Garrett means when he sings his "RKG" song.

Understand... But Rob wants a rotation. He will command 13+ million a year... A lot of money for a part time 1 technique who plays 3 on nickel downs on a rotational basis.

He will get more than watt's 6 and 100. 18 or 19 per year probably.

More than half of their own free agents are guys that need to be replaced. Hayden, Selvie, etc.. need to be upgraded (draft) or just go with other players already on the roster. There is a high probability that even if a guy like Hayden was not a free agent, that he was going to lose his job to guys like Brent, Bishop or a healthy T. McClain.

Well, he's stated his RKoG qualities on the podium many times for the media. I don't think the Cowboys would
entertain Ray Rice on our team and I don't think they will entertain Gregg Hardy on our team either. Besides,
he's not going to play for peanuts and he would probably want about 10-15mil+ more than Mincey...
Not going to happen.

Dallas does not need more low end free agents. They already had a good team last year and have plenty of developmental players of which a few will likely step up this year.

They need a couple of impact players.

In regards to RKG, the top requirement is a guy that loves football. Bobbie Carpenter was NOT an RKG despite never being in trouble.

Reporting now on NFL.com

I know it's a pipe dream, but man would that be a huge addition, even if he's a basket case.

IDK. Our DL scheme is build on rotation. Because of that a single player does not bring that much upgrade into it. Just because his snapcount will be reduced.

Our scheme to me benefits more from constant preasure with alot of guys that are able to bring nearly 100% thru the whole game. To me our scheme at DL says "Rotate 2 good guys so they dont get tired and are able to bring 100% the whole game is far better then one great guy who brings 70% thru the whole game because he gets tired in the end."

And today you pay less for 2 good guys then for one great DL player.

Great player but because of our scheme not for us. And because of the scheme the investment in him would be nuts.

True. But you still have to replace the SDE with someone and you probably want to resign two of your three linebackers, and one of your two offensive tackles, and you will have to replace Dwayne Harris and the four roles he provides for us (kick off returner, punt returner, gunner, and best lead blocker from WR position), and sign Cole Beasley to a contract. Plus, franchise Dez. Oh, we might need to also sign Murray or another running back like Mark Ingram as well.

True, but JG has said who he thinks right kind of guys are which includes good/core football players ( Romo, Witten, Murray, etc.). They handle their
business on the field and off the field, right? Suh and Hardy fail...

100% agree. I don't see how we can trot out there when the season begins with our JAGs on the DL + a few more new JAGs and expect to get better. Of course there is the draft, but those guys will more thank likely take time to develop if they're DLinemen.

Anyway, people get this idea in their head that RKG means "choir boy", and that's simply not the case. If it were, Henry Melton and Josh Brent wouldn't be on the team.

What we need/like and what we are willing to mortgage the farm for are two different animals. Steven has already said we
will be bargain shoppers again this year and next...as long as Romo is around.

You seem to forget that our Jags and DL helped get us into the playoffs this year. You can't have "all pro's" at every
position with a franchise QB eating up a good chunk of the cap. Besides, our winning formula is to have a standout
running game with Romo's passing to keep the opposing offense off the field. The only player on the planet that
Jerry might go against his braintrust for would be AP if he was available and Murray moves on which is expected.
