Raiola: 'Who the hell does he think he is?'

If Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman wants to try to put a big hit on Lions quarterback Jon Kitna, center Dominic Raiola doesn't have a problem with that. Go ahead and give it your best shot -- that's the game of football.
But Raiola has some serious issues with Newman saying that he's going to try to cheap shot Kitna during Sunday's game and that Newman already has the money set aside to pay the league fine for the illegal hit.
"Who the hell does he think he is?'' Raiola said today. "You don't make comments like that in this league.''
Newman is still upset over remarks Kitna said about him during a radio interview with a Seattle radio station last year, leading up to Dallas' playoff game with the Seahawks. Kitna, who said he wasn't trying to offend anyone, said that Newman was Dallas' best cornerback, but that he wasn't as good as Seattle's Marcus Trufant.
Earlier this week, Newman said, "Basically what it boils down to is you've got to watch what you say. Your mouth can't write checks that your (butt) can't cash. That's what it comes down to. Everybody's going to see those quotes. He better just hope I don't blitz off the edge because I've got 15, 25, 30 (thousand dollars), however much it would be for a fine. I've got that much for one fine. Revenge will be sweet definitely."
Raiola doesn't have an issue with Newman being upset, but it's his method of revenge that he believes is over the line.
"If you're going to (hit him hard), do it fair and square,'' Raiola said. "You're going to try to cheap-shot somebody? Say you're going to pick him off or you're going to make one of his receivers pay - I don't care - but when you say you've got money put away for fines? That takes it to a whole different level.''
Raiola was asked about Kitna starting the problem in the first place with his comments.
"So you're going to try to hurt somebody? Prove him wrong on Sunday. You don't try to hurt him,'' he said. "I just don't think you say 'I'm going to hurt somebody' in this league. You just don't do that.
"You say you're going to come out and hurt him and what are we supposed to think? What if we come out and say we're going to take cheap shots the entire game? They're not going to like that, are they? Nobody would like that.''
Then again, Raiola isn't sure that Newman and Kitna are ever going to meet up on the football field anyway.
"We're ready for (Newman) to blitz, but we haven't seen him blitz one time,'' Raiola said. "He's not the blitzer. Maybe he's talking about when he scrambles.''
It's getting way out of hand. I just hope the Cowboys take care of business ON THE FIELD and put this one behind us. I'm sick of us losing to the lowly Lions. We have done it throughout our history. It's not about these Detroit clowns. It's about the Cowboys being 12-1.
