Listening to Bill Parcells PC...

I'm just wondering if anyone else has the impression that Bill sounds like a man who has made up his mind that this is his final season.

I've listened to many of his PC's but today's just sounded like he was deep in thought or something.

Very polite but short, curt replies.

He sounded resolute.

No need to flame. Just an opinion.

Well, I hope he stays for the last year of his contract, but to paraphrase Ivan Drago in Rocky IV: "If he leaves, he leaves."

I didn't get that feel at all. He was in sour mood obviously considering the circumstances. I mean why would he in any other mood than that, considering what happened last Sunday?

Having said, as much of a Fan I am Bill, I will probably not like him, if he quits now, especially considering he is leaving unfinished business here and kind of put the organization behind in terms of the future at QB and even Defense now.

I think he will stay at least till next year. But if December slides continue next year, I dont see him staying beyond that.

I think he will stay at least till next year. But if December slides continue next year, I dont see him staying beyond that.

I agree, I don't think he is going anywhere until after next season at the earliest. I would have been upset if he was glib and upbeat after the kind of dump our team laid on the field last week.

QB I'll give you but I'm curious as to why you feel we are behind in terms of defense? If anything I think this is the one area where the team's future looks bright.

He's always curt like that on a Friday, which is basically Thursday today with the game being moved up a day. (If that makes sense.) I didn't think he sounded any different than he usually does on that day.

If ever there was a time I thought he sounded completely disgusted and like he might want to quit, it was last year.

Ok, I guess I said it wrong. What I am saying there is, now that Cowboys moved to 3-4, it wont be a good thing to move back to 4-3 now. Although I think Cowboys have the talent to move back to 4-3.

So, if a new coach comes in and wants to go back to 4-3 again, it will be big setback in my opinion. So thats what I mean by him setting Defense behind if he leaves now. So combined with QB, Offensive situation, that leaves the team too much to overcome in a year or two.

Now if D stays 3-4 even if he leaves, then yeah, he will not have left it bad, but much better than where it was. I guess, you could say, considering the QB situation, D is not that much of a concern if he leaves, so might be bit wrong there then.

Maybe Jerry fired him already & asked him to complete the season anyways so Jerry doesn't look like a meddling owner LOL

I would guess that Jerry was very much involved in the decision to move to the 3-4, and very aware that his next coaching candidate when Bill does leave will probably have to be comfortable with it for at least a year or two.
