Look at who the QB is in those gifs, that was when Morris was still fresh. Don't try to compare Zeke and Morris because it's just asinine.

Yes, it is asinine. One is proven in the league, the other hasn't rushed for a single yard yet in the NFL.

What team won in recent year because of a great running game?

That's a waste of time. The Cowboys are clearly headed in the power running game.
Instead of debating against where their headed I prefer to talk about where we are headed.
Make no mistake about it we are a power running team.

Once again....in college. I care about the NFL. Elliott has a relatively high ceiling, we know this. But as of right now, he only has game film. The final judgement on him comes when he produces or doesn't produce in the NFL.

You can say that about any player. you can say it about Ramsey.

Yes...you can. I'm not arguing we shouldn't have taken him. I'm saying pump the damn brakes. The guy hasn't rushed for a single yard in this league. After the MANY failed RBs that looked great in college failing at the next level, I'm going to treat Elliott as such. He had a great college career, he has a high ceiling. That's where it ends.

Using college highlights to compare to RBs who have done it at the next level is idiotic. I mean, look at this for sure monster!

I just got back from picking y girls up at school. Listening to NFL Radio in the vehicle, a Cowboy fan called up to Jim Miller and Pat Kerwin and expressed to him his disappointment over taking Ezekiel Elliott with the #4 overall pick.

Now I don't have an issue with someone disagreeing with the pick. However, when the caller tells the folks at NFL Radio that Alfred Morris can do everything and anything Elliott can do kinda floored me.

Kerwin waved the Ezekiel flag saying that it would not surprise him that Elliott will have more catches from the running back position in the month of September than what Morris has had his entire career. Kerwin also mentioned that Dallas was 27th in the league in 3rd down conversions at 35%. He believes the addition of Elliott will bust that percentage to well over 40.

Again, I can understand folks wanting to address defense a little more than what they did. But to say that Morris is just as good as Elliott in every facet of being a running back? Really?

With both Zeke and Darius Jackson - I am not sold that both Alfred or McFadden stick to the roster. McFadden can return KO, Alfred-not. McFadden is older than Alfred. I view both McFadden and Alfred as roster bubble players........if Darius Jackson is everything of his superhuman measureables.......

I would stop wasting time with Dunbar, who can't ever stay healthy.

If the quality is there, and the plan is to run the ball a lot, I have no trouble keeping four running backs:

Elliott
McFadden
Morris
Jackson

I won't be surprised when Jackson and Gathers make the 53 while Dunbar and Escobar are either put on PUP or released outright.

Some of the callers in to Jim and Pat are pretty much as casual fans as you could describe.

I think they take time to try to educate callers, but it still doesn't make an impact.

I could start a thread like this every day based on the Cowboy fans that call in to Sirius.

I don't know if it was the same caller or something I heard later, I kept hearing Kirwan talk about how Dallas could trade one of the RBs.

That made me laugh.

And then he followed it up with "Dallas is always a team that is looking to deal." or something like that.

When is the last time we had a tradable commodity on this roster that we managed to move?

I'm not taking anything less than two 1st rounder's for either McFadden or Morris. You're lucky I'm not asking for a conditional 7th rounder as well

I'm a glutton for punishment, but I'm still holding out hope for Escobar. I would be thrilled if Jackson can beat out Dunbar. Can't believe this kid's size and speed.

Zeki was a good pick. The complainer needs to focus on the rest of the draft that turned bad.

I assume you did a fair bit of scouting of the prospects, and ran them through a bunch of drills and interviews to draw this kind of conclusion. What kind of red flags did you notice?

It's his own cute and clever way of throwing darts at his Jerry Jones dart board.

Whenever I think about Escobar, I can't help but think of the player drafted one spot after him.

Le'Veon Bell. How different would things have been for the Cowboys if he had been ther pick? Right or wrong, I will always associate yet another wasted 2nd round TE pick and Bell's success in this league.

Whenever I look at Escobar, I see a young man with absolutely no confidence. Not in himself or his abilities. A deer in the headlights, playing scared on the field, unsure of himself. The rare times he does make a play, he seems as shocked by it as anyone.

The Achilles injury is simply the final nail in his coffin for his career with the Cowboys in my opinion.

It always seems like the "dumb" Cowboys fans call Moving the Chains. I get so irritated because it seems there can be days without them talking about the Cowboys and then a moron shows up and says something stupid.

Thank god the draft is over because now the Browns talk can go away.

In my opinion, the worst part of any sports talk show (national, local, or Cowboys.com) is when they take phone calls from fans.
