Just saw the Saints Minicamp segment on ESPN. What's that I see? Reggie Bush with the plain gold helment on with his name across the front. Bush with a plywood locker. When asked about Bush missing a practice session with a slight hamstring pull, Payton attributed it to too many limo rides. Sounds like something Bill would say.

To be honest, I wish we could have kept Payton around for the time when Bill decides to leave. I think he is VERY much a BP guy, and it doesn't look like it took very long to take on his personality.

I know a lot of people on here won't agree, but I'm hoping that our next coach is one that has spent some serious time with BP and goes after his job (and his players) as such. Mike Zimmer wouldn't bother me a bit if he continues to take on the mold that Payton has.

Reggies Bush is petitioning the NFL to allow him to wear the #5. But NFL rules only allow RB's to wear numbers 20-29.

If they break this rule for this kid, then all NFL rules are coming down.

Tell him to wear #25.

No special treatment.

He's not even the #1 pick in the draft.

I thought RBS can wear #s in the 20s, 30s, or 40s..? Not just in the 20s..?

Hey does anybody know if he has bush bringing him his water too?

who cares what # he wears.... If a WR can wear a number in the teens (ie. Keyshawn #19), let the kid wear #5:starspin

I would love to read a book that shows the Coaching Tree starting with Parcells and how all the coaches since he started as a Head Coach have been influenced and even practice methods and traditions learned from Parcells.

Sean Peyton
Nick Saban
Bill Belichick
Romeo Crennell
Tom Coughlin
Chris Palmer
Al Groh
Charlie Wies
Ray Handley

Guys to watch are Maurice Carthon and Mike Zimmer

Man, talk about not understanding football.

WR's were only allowed to wear 80-89, until it became too crowded ... then the NFL opened up 0-19 for them as well. It was out of necesity.

ONE RB does not have the right to petition the league for exemption.

What next? Mario Williams petitioning that he's exempt from off sides calls?

Brady Quinn wanting #1002563 on his jersey?

Man, you guys crack me up.

I'd let him wear the number just because he has agreed that 25% of all money from jersey sales of his #5 saints jersey would go to charity.

my opinion he screwed himself on that one.
if the league doesn't let him have number 5 he isn't gonna help out the hurricane victims?
either way he looks bad to me.

besides why can't NO just list him as a WR and call it a day?

Still, don't let him bend the rules. HIS part of the jersey sales is 1% of the total price ... about $1 for each $100 jersey sold. So, donating 25 cents per jersey isn't much. He can't throw in a million dollars out of his own pocket and not bat an eyelash.

If he's allowed an exemption, then everyone will want exemptions. Then we're in the middle of chaos.

correct me if im wrong, but i dont think WR's can wear numbers 0-9, 10-19 yes, i do remember a WR wearing 00 once. so even if he was listed as a WR, i still dont think he can wear #5.
