It was a good time, hopefully the next one goes better. Some of you guys gotta show up or post that you can't take the team. It's was interesting to see what people thought other team needs were more pressing as there were only a couple teams that had a concensus.

Shoot me if we actually pick Blalock, and Bowe and Hughes are on the board. ;)

Some of the picks were embarrasingly bad -Washington, the NY Giants and Dallas for example.

I'm prejudiced, but I thought the draft worked out very well for the Patriots and the Chargers.

Other really solid picks were the Colts, Bears, Ravens and Texans.

I actually think that Blalock was an OK pick. Hey, if he can help us with our guard problems, then hell, I'd draft him too.

But as SP said, I'm not sure if I'd take him over Hughes and Bowe.

Blalock is a pretty solid pick IMO, just not given the circumstances I guess.

Blalock is probably going to be a fantastic guard - a real mauler. But, for better or for worse, that is not the offensive line that we have been trying to build for the past few years, especially not from the guard position. Is that a huge deal? Noone can say for sure. But if we're moving to a more athletic, less physically imposing line, it doesn't make an enormous amount of sense to draft a guard that is almost entirely the opposite.

I really think our main focus in the first round is going to be getting help at corner or WR. It seems ridiculous, since our most glaring need is RG - but there's just noone who fits. Maybe Blalock's more athletic than I think, and we grab him up.

this is why i hated having the cowboys pick. regardless of who you take, there'll be a crowd who's not on board with it, or thinks something else could be better.

since i've spent years harping on fixing the line, that's where i went. bowe? maybe. but now we have him as our 4th WR on the roster and he's not likely to play too much until glenn gets hurt, crayton washes out, or TO upsets someone and is no longer a cowboy.

for the giants, yea. i reached. i didn't have enough time to get overall team needs and went with the best RB on the board vs. BPA overall. i'll try to take more time to study overall needs next time around for my team assignment. one public ridiculing is enough for me. : )

Don't be so sensitive. :p

Blalock's a fine pick, and I won't actually shoot anything if we do pick him. I just think he doesn't really fit what we've been trying to do here. We can probably get the kin of guard we need a little later. But if they see him, and think he's a rare player - yeah, take him. Guys like that can play in any style.
