Not practicing due to "knee soreness". I'm ready to be done with him. I'm all in on Leary and Arkin week one.

Grubbs should have been signed last year. Waste of cap space.

Silly second guessing of recent injuries aside, this is getting ridiculous. Gotta have your line on the field in camp.

Maybe that rumor about Brian Waters has some measure of truth to it after all?

Looks like he may be done. Still having trouble with the knees and even when he does practice, seems like reports are he isn't the same anymore because he can't even bend enough to get leverage.

What are the cap repercussions if we cut livings?

Is it possible to do some sort of injury buyout before the season starts where we could wipe him from the cap completely?

I doubt it.

Imagine an underperforming big contract player with a high cap hit. Instead of cutting him, he claims injury and the team buys him out. They erase the dead money, he gets more money now than he would have gotten had he been cut and then he can sign with another team as though he were cut.

I think buyouts are geared to money that would be earned had he not been cut. Cap hits are based on that plus the money already paid in the form of the bonuses. You might wipe the base salaries off but the rest is likely to still be there.

Time to find a replacement. It's been like 2 weeks since camp started? How's he going to be healthy enough during the week to practice when the season starts. Can't go through the season with a guy who can't practice all week because of a sore knee and then only comes in on Sunday and plays with a sore knee.

Livings out 2 weeks

Ouch, well the question is will the knee be any better when/if he returns. We do have vets like TRat and Spencer sitting right now, so its not like we can't wait on him to come back cause he could be ready just like them, but we do have to find out if this will be an ongoing problem.

What I'm hoping is Leary just plain takes the spot and doesn't give it up so we don't have to worry about this situation.

I'm not sweating Livings being out a couple of weeks... And you know why?

Because Leary is going to get (and is getting) every opportunity to win that spot.

It's still early but an offensive line of: Smith, Leary, Frederick, Arkin/Bern and Free isn't unrealistic.

That being the case, Costa, Parnell and whoever loses the Arkin/Bern battle will be the main backups.

That leaves Kowalski, Livings, Cook battling for one and maybe two spots.

Bottom line I don't think it matters much about Livings and his knee.

You still need backups, I don't know if Living will be a starter but we still need backups along the OL or where you guys only expecting to keep 5 guys?
