You still need backups, I don't know if Living will be a starter but we still need backups along the OL or where you guys only expecting to keep 5 guys?
With Leary & Bern starting:
Kowalski, Costa, Arkin, Parnell, and possibly Bell would make 9 or 10

Yeah thats why I don't understand the cut Livings stuff so early. Even if he is beat out to start, he is definitely in our top 7 or 8 OL, and its hard to cut him anyway. It would be nice to have someone on the bench we can plug in that has played well in the past for a change.

But if his knee is bothering him so soon in camp, how can he be counted in?

There is alot of Killer love here, but Livings is probably still a better player than him. Now what we want to do with his salary is different, but given the choice I would rather give Livings some time to get healthy than have Killer out there with his lack of true strength.

A decision will have to be made by the staff whether or not he can get the knee right.

No reason to knee jerk about it til we know more especially when he could ride the bench and the knee could become totally healthy if he is indeed sitting behind Leary.

Living could be cut I don't know we have not even played a single Pre season game so before people start running players out you may want to see what happens.

I thought Livings was going to be a camp cut anyway so I'm not going to lose any sleep over his bad knee. :D

Not if he can't get off the trainers table.

More depth this year on the OL. So, the absence of Livings doesn't mean much. Arkin and Leary seem to be playing well right now. If they can stay healthy, Livings is expendable. Kowalski was playing well until he got injured. Costa can backup at both center and guard.

I'm ready to move on from both Livings and Bernadeau. Throw Ratliff in there with Livings and Bern. Livings and Bern were bad signings, and Ratliff should have NEVER been resigned/extended. I doubt those three do anything for the Cowboys this year.

How is it 'knee jerk' - no pun intended - when its been twice in the past few weeks?

I guess what I don't understand is why we won't give up on Killer who has been hurt last season and this season, but won't give Livings a chance to get healthy. Granted, the age difference is part of it and the 'potential' of Killer, whatever that may be, but we can't go around cutting probably the 2nd best OL on the team last year.....the mistake we made with Holland.

Give him a chance to get healthy before we cut him loose, if he can't get right in 2 weeks, let him go kick rocks.

2 weeks of key prep time and work.

I can see your point, but this is when a team's offensive line is supposed to come together, not fall apart.

It seems like both of them can't get off the trainers table! damn....

I have not heard a great deal on Kowalski's injury, other then a bruised knee. If it is more serious then that, then I absolutely agree. We should probably look at moving on from both. Livings, I think he's about done. If his issue is mobility in the knee and no actual contact created the injury, then that's about as far away from what we need as you can get.

If it comes down to the two of them, I'd ride with Kowalski over Livings just because Kowalski is younger and has a much better chance of coming back from minor injury. Also, Livings has a much larger price tag that is only going to escalate in the next few years. Killer is playing for like 500K.
