to join the Cowboys staff and hopefully coach the OL next year. This guy is definitely going to be fired at UVA. Horrible year, and today they were blasted by Fl. St.

If he has to end up here, I'd rather see Groh coach the backers.

I'd be shocked if Groh were fired this year. He just signed an extension a year or two ago that would mean a huge buyout, and I don't see that happening in light of the same scenario unfolding a couple years ago with Pete Gillen. The natives ARE restless, as they foot the athletics bill (zero sports money comes from the state or the school), but I doubt any of the big boosters wants to pay another coach millions to leave. He'll get at least one more year.

I'd happily bring Groh on board.

what about elton john, er I mean chuck amato?
both Groh and Amato's seasons have been disasters this year.

I wouldn't mind seeing him here either.

You guys think Groh would take such a demotion? It just seems like becoming a LB coach would be a huge step down from HC at Virginia. I would think he'd be looking more for a coordinator position.

True...I guess living so close to UVA makes me think that Groh was a bigger deal than he really is.

Groh will get another year at UVa. They have alot of young guys playing now, including the QB, Sewell, and up until today, had been playing slightly better.

He'll get another chance to improve on this season.

Chuck "The Chest" Amato is a different story, though. He's a joke of a coach, and his talk of "being a national championship contender" is beyond delusional. If Cowher leaves the Steelers, I won't be surprised to see NC State make a play for him. But, I don't know how interested he would be in the job.

He has been bad at UVa... but he is a bit old school for the college ranks...

I think he is a really good coach and I wouldn't be surprised to find him here next year...

Wayne, Groh has put the Cavs in too many bowl games to get fired for one bad season, at least IMO...

Wouldn't mind seeing him wind up with the Boys if he does find himself unemployed, though... however, most of his experience is on the defensive side of the ball, I don't know how effective he'd be as an offensive line coach...

Let somebody foot the bill to make Mike Zimmer a head coach and bring on Al Groh as defensive coordinator! Woohoo!

Sounds good to me.

I think our defense can be #1 with the right DC.
