So we have posted just about every thread imaginable to complain about last nights game, and i think it's time to move on and focus on trying to win out and go 11-5 and make sure to win the division.

so looking at Atlanta, what are everyone's keys to the game?

Here are mine at the moment:

1. Hold their rushing attack to a moderate level. No one can really stop it, but we need to hold it in check.

2. Be physical with their WRs on the line of scrimmage, they are not very physical and it will help against the deep routes.

3. Find a way to smother Alge Crumpler, i don't care how, just do it.

4. Eliminate John Abraham. When healthy this year he is very fast and hard to stop. We know how much trouble Flozell has with speed rushers, so this is very key. If we can do to Abraham what we did to Dwight Freeney than Romo should have decent amounts of time to scan the field.

5. Establish the running game. Do unto the Falcons what the Falcons try to do unto everyone.

that's all i can think of right now. Any other ideas and thoughts??

How about we rush the backfiled less and cover the flats more, because Vick will embaress us otherwise all by himself. This is actually the one game where I'm not worried about our pass-defense because Vick is basically a RB - he is not a real QB, he only plays one on TV.

Their running game will be a lot easier to stop if Dunn and Norwood are out.

Deploy our outside linebackers in the same way other defenses do to contain Vick. (Don't expect Ware to register a sack against Vick. His job will be to make sure Vick doesn't break containment and sprint towards the sidelines.)

Keep him from scrambling outside the pocket. Make him run up the middle.

Stop their running game, which should be easier to do with Dunn and Norwood out.

On offense, establish the run. Don't make everything run through Romo.

Put together long scoring drives, which will cause Vick to run more or force things on offense.

I'm not really worried about Vick scrambling if we can continue scoring points. Vick, when he runs alot, is gassed by the fourth quarter and is more prone to mistakes.

I agree. Contain and make Vick throw to beat us. Hopefully his receivers dont pick our game to catch everything in sight  :

From a Falcon fan, your gameplan should include:

1) Throw deep early to TO vs DHall. We (Falcons) get torched in the transition of WR from the CB to the safety, which is about 20-25 yards downfield.

2) Stop the run early by either getting a quick 2 score lead or being a force against the run early

3) Play extreme contain at the DE positions. Have your DEs rush upfield and not toward the pocket

Personally, worry more about Norwood than Dunn. Dunn seems to be out of gas this year, and Norwood has an incredible burst. I think he is only behind Tomlinson for long runs of 20+ yards.

We rarely throw into the short flats, but if Knapp ever figures it out, that is our best passing game. He does involve the FB there once or twice a game, but if Norwood gets the ball in that area, he becomes a Bush clone in that area.

Norwood has multiple runs of 60+ yards; he's elusive, but a one cut RB.

Mora is quiet on our RBs injury status, and in hindsight, this is an area where he's been supurb in the past. He over emphasizes the injury report (esp with Dunn) and then the player in question appears not to even be injured (although the injury report may even have the player as questionable). Primarily, this has been a ploy/trick in the first couple of games of the last two years. So far in the late going, he seems to have run out of tricks and Knapp surely isn't helping the situation.

Once every few games, Vick gets it in his mind that he is going to be the only one to win the game, or that he is the only Falcon player putting forth any effort (and sometimes he's right). In those games, he looks like a world burner while the rest of the field (including his own players) seems to be standing still. That is when Vick is dangerous, and he is due to make an appearance. Vick hasn't taken over a game in a few weeks and if the team appears sluggish early on, he may try to take it into his own hands.

The best defense for Vick seems to be extremely fast LBers, even if they aren't always the starters.

Just MHO though.
