Favre staying retired

July 28th, 2009 – 3:53 PM by Chip Scoggins
Judd just received a phone call from Brad Childress who said he talked to Brett Favre and that he was informed that Favre is staying retired. Childress cited the daily grind both mentally and physically as part of the reason why Favre remained retired.
“I just think it was a rare opportunity to explore a Hall of Fame quarterback who had background in the NFC and in this division,” Childress said. “He knows our system inside out … This doesn’t change anything about how I feel about our football team.”

Still keeping hope alive that he plays.

I want him to play with Minnesota badly just to see him stick it to the Packers.

We've heard this song & dance before.

Agreed, I'll believe it when I see him go three years without being in uniform. Bring it up again in 2012.

Didn't he make a video of himself, working out at the University of Illinois, this offseason?

Supposedly, Ron Zook was impressed and is helping him distribute it, or something along those lines.

I just hope that the Vikings slam the door on him. Not there from Day 1 of training camp, not there at all.

I can hear the digits on Brad's cell dialing Mike Vick from here.

They have already sabotaged their quarterbacks' confidence so they minds well bring in Vick now.

Yes, they have. Even if the QBs maintain some sort of confidence in their own abilities, they won't have trust or confidence in their coaches or teammates who were texting Favre.

I think this is great. He'll play - just once training camp is over.

Damn, I was one of the few who wanted to see him keep going.

Me too!

And, going, and going, and going....gone!

That might be true...IF...they give him his own office, shower stall, parking place, someone make his bed and serve him his food...AND, a clause in his contract that he does not have to associate with any other team members!

Plus...the contract must be for 12 mil for the year...
