The Super Bowl Champions have not played in the Sunday Night Football Game. They kick off the entire NFL Season with a Thursday Night edition of MNF. So I doubt this leaked report. Not saying it is impossible, but that it is improbable because the games are wrong based on previous policy.

If true some interesting notes:

- All NFC East teams will play in the spotlight

- The new stadium will get first madden announced game of year.

- Division game vs Commanders to go in books as first game played. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Excited! Hmm... I think this is what the person posted. I am not sure though. The kickoff game is on a Thursday.

kick-off titans at steelers
snf Commanders at cowboys

mnf midnight eagles at chargers
mnf 3:15 am seahawks at 49ers
mnf 2100 sunday giants at broncos

3 monday night games?

I'd prefer a mundane opponent for the opener. The Cowboys have a bad habit of losing any game with any sort of historical significance on it since Jimmy left.

It should have been the Commanders to close out Texas Stadium as well.

Oh yeah that 44-6 *** whippin' would have looked so much better closing down Texas Stadium instead of being in Philly.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I'd have prefered to have the Skins for the final Texas Stadium game but oh well.

I wouldn't mind, at all, opening with the Skins but I also wouldn't mind, given how Texas Stadium got closed down, if we opened with the Ravens.

Might have been a loss here but not 44-6.

Big difference playing here or in that rats nest.

week 1 kick-off titans at steelers snf Commanders at cowboys mnf midnight eagles at chargers mnf 3:15 am seahawks at 49ers 2100 sunday giants at broncos

the way I take this,

the steelers are playing in the kickoff game, which is thursday against the titans.

the cowboys will showcase the new stadium on snf, which is what the league did for indianapolis last year

and then the mnf games, which the way it is written is very confusing.

I can definitely see us opening on SNF because of the stadium and the draw of the team.

and I bet Fox is going to throw a fit at some point with espn and nbc taking nfc east games constantly.

You hope. The way our team played compared to how they were playing...I'm really not sure it mattered where the game was at.

Location had zero to do with that win.

Zach thomas said it in the locker room after the loss, the team thought it was over after the ravens game and acted like it, even after a good week of practice.

We could have played the eagles in guam and the result would have been the same.

Great. the Skins look for motivation to beat us. Opening the new stadium with them is not something I want to do.

Can you imagine listening to skins fans forever on how they spoiled the opening of the new stadium?

No thanks.:ralph: :puke:

I know we don't play that division but I'd prefer to open vs the Texans for some revenge.

I can't imagine the Skins fans saying anything about beating us in the opening of the new stadium because I'm going to do something really wild like *GASP* believe that we'll win and open the new stadium properly.

I know, I know I'm the idiot who thought we'd close the old one correctly but call me optomistic anyway. It's much better than sitting around crying about the bad that could happen to us.

This game will have historical significance no matter who the opponent is. Might as well be the Deadskins or the Iggles or even the Gnats.
