i do not see any value in this. Why do we want to stunt the growth of 2 VERY promising young players in Scandrick & Jenkins for a 30+ player that has hands like butter. IMO this is the kind of move that kills this team.

eh? Springs = henry? Good story. When both are healthy springs >>> henry.

Yeah, and Henry gives consistent effort and Springs does not.

Anything else to add?

I agree. Signing Springs would be a complete waste of time, money, and experience for the younger guys. He would have to learn a system that Henry already knows.

If he wants to sign as a Cowboy to retire as one. I would do it for two reasons. One because of his father, two to spite the Foreskins.

normally for a player of his age, I would agree.

the difference is he is a good player, a good person, a quiet guy and very versatile.

I dont think he would have any effect on the younger guys. He might be able to step in and play safety or play corner in case of emergency.

his dad played here and is in a hospital here..and gulp, he is a friend of T.O.

oh and I think you could sign him for a zach thomas type deal.

2nd this. If they sign Springs, it would allow them to push Henry back to Safety full-time anyway. Let Springs/Scandrick and Jenkins fight it out for that other Corner spot. Draft a Safety (Chung?) and give him a year to learn the ropes/fill in for Henry during his obligatory injuries.

Great post. On top of this if we do let Henry go to free up cap room we have not lost Veteran leadership in the secondary. Also think Springs could play FS better than Henry could anyway.

If that's the case, I'm all for it, but if he's looking for $3-4mil/yr then no thanks...

At least TO can get use to being blanketed by a corner in practice like he does during the games!!!!

Maybe Springs can teach him how to get off the press!

This is really what it boils down to for the pro-springs folks, his family's history here. If it were any other 33 year old corner, they wouldn't want him here either.

Are we forgetting exactly how the Zach Thomas deal turned out? With him saying he hates it here, despite all that homegrown Texan stuff they said before we signed him.

Then who would play SS, since Hamlin seems to be better suited for FS (and they paid him big $$$ to do so)?

Yep. Purely sympathetic reasoning for Springs potentially coming here. If it wasn't for his dad, this thread wouldn't even exist!! ;)

I knew we had to release him, but I don't want him coming to y'all. what little offense we had (Moss) would be taken out of the game completely.

I would take him hes a smart player and his dad obviously means a lot and would mean a lot to his family to play here so he would play hard.

Local media say the Pats might have the most interest in him.
